goldfish actually is the fish variant of midas, its a mixed skin of midas and leviathan.

Oro is Midas- or a version of him. In myth Midas looked into a mirror and saw a golden skeleton. Oro represents the curse itself- hence why it’s part of the Midas’ revenge and has his scar, as well as the same symbols adorning Midas Rex’s cosmetics. When Midas returned to his kingly armor with Midas Rex he used the symbols from his old kingdom.

But Goldfish is just pretending to be him. Fun fact: it’s also very likely Cyclo is Midas- seeing how the only times we see the suit in game is in his room in the Agency and the Rig- despite the body differences. This is because the Cyclo is a modified version of Tempest and would be difficult to adjust the suit for Midas’ slender build

My theory is that Midas resurrected as shadow Midas thanks to fade but lex Luther have Midas a suit to make him human again and then helped the island for a very long time but the Big Bang reset his entire story.

Or maybe he never died at all? He was attacked by a shark sure but he could of been in hiding and found a habd and made it gold to give a false lead. Many npcs would talk about midas. Which would come to say there's more than what they are telling us. Then as the timeline reset, midas returned but was imprisoned. Until an ally found him and broke him out.
