Bishop Tutu of S. Africa said it best: "We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about - our very skin. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given. I could not have fought against the discrimination of apartheid and not also fight against the discrimination that homosexuals endure, even in our churches and faith groups. I am proud that in South Africa, when we won the chance to build our own new constitution, the human rights of all have been explicitly enshrined in our laws. My hope is that one day this will be the case all over the world, and that all will have equal rights. For me this struggle is a seamless robe. Opposing apartheid was a matter of justice. Opposing discrimination against women is a matter of justice. Opposing discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation is a matter of justice. It is also a matter of love. Every human being is precious. We are all - all of us - part of God’s family. We all must be allowed to love each other with honor. Yet all over the world, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people are persecuted. We treat them as pariahs and push them outside our communities. We make them doubt that they too are children of God. This must be nearly the ultimate blasphemy. We blame them for what they are. Churches say that the expression of love in a heterosexual monogamous relationship includes the physical - the touching, embracing, kissing, the genital act; the totality of our love makes each of us grow to become increasingly godlike and compassionate. If this is so for the heterosexual, what earthly reasons have we to say that it is not the case with the homosexual? The Jesus I worship is not likely to collaborate with those who vilify and persecute an already oppressed minority."

I'm still being called gag in a meant to demeaning way. Last time was last week. I think all the excuses people have used ( yes I hate because it's a positive hate, weakness is meant to be exploited and gay is weakness, it's not how to make babies) to tell themselves it's ok to be prejudiced, or bashers, or instigators of others to do bashing, etc, is still there. Maybe just the other side of some rolling prayer poles, but still there. A problem is common folks view gay marriage as,over working the fixtures( plumbing, or electrical, or security), and they just can't, do-it-yourself, repair it. Like having a warehouse stackers/ organizer do software coding, or having admin people start a fire from scratch and cook fish, or a doctor chose a decent skateboard and do spins. You're just asking them to that which isn't a habitual task ,and they aren't willing to try new things. And, that, is probably always going to be with us. So, we're always going to have to be vigilant for the prejudice. Sexual minorities need to learn that from the culture and race minorities. And never let go of it.

Most people understand, and accept, that gay people claim they were born that way, and are surprised, at a certain age, to discover their homosexual arousal. But, this does not mean, that humans cannot be trained to grow up homosexual. You can take any child, male or female, and train them to grow up anyway you like. To be expert piano players, golfers, musicians, or homosexual. It is all a matter of training, at an early enough stage of development. Any Behavioral Scientist can attest to this fact. We are intensely social creatures, our survival depends largely upon social integration. The ability to be trained in certain cultural ways, is an important survival mechanism. In fact, Many LEFTIST political activists, firmly believe it is important to train boys to experiment with homosexual activity, because they are convinced, that this is the best way to combat what they call: "Toxic Masculinity". They believe this process will result in a more peace loving world.

What an idiotic statement. You're comparing human sexuality to learning piano.🙄 None of us come into this world as totally blank slates, only to be "groomed" into who the adults around us want us to be. Your logic is laughable. Nearly every LGBTQI person on the planet was groomed by their heterosexual families to be straight, & then we realize that's NOT who we innately are. Despite ALL the heteronormative social pressures that we grow up in for decades, we can not magically turn ourselves into heterosexuals. ( Nore would most of us want to even if we could!) * Human sexualities & genders are innate & complex. It's fairy tale thinking to believe that there's only 2 genders & 1 sexuality when it comes to the human animal. Many First Nations people of the Americas wisely lived with the philosophy of, ' let your children show you who they are.' Anotherwords, they knew we were born with personalities, sexualities & gender(s) that were unique to each of us.; ingrained within us from the Creator or the Holy People. They knew it would be wrong & even evil to try to force their children to be someone that they were not. This is how children should be raised; with open-minded acceptance & compassion for whoever they are.
@applesandgrapesfordinner46269 ай бұрын
So? Whether or not we're born with it, people still have the right to discover their sexuality. Someone can be born gay and end up having a bisexual attraction for women later on or even go out with a transwoman. Some with someone straight and discovering their sexualitties later. Let people be.

They had it right in the 60s. Of course nobody dares openly say that anymore...but what about incest? How come there's no "rights for incest marriage?" After all, if it's just two, loving, consensual adults, why not legalize incestuous marriages too? Why discriminate against them? Because people have no logical consistency. The arguments for gay marriage were always B.S. but they were emotionally persuasive--after all, who would be against "rights" when you frame the very issue in a way that is biased to support the gay agenda? But apply the exact same question and logic to a different sexual, moral degeneracy where the taboo has not yet lifted, and it's clear all those same people would be just as "bigoted" as they think "homophobes" are. Proving their logic does not hold up to scrutiny at all. They are hypocrites. What about polygamy? Any movement for extending marriage rights to committed threesome relationships? No? So why then is one redefinition of marriage the moral crusade for "civil rights" but another isn't?
@_Takari6 ай бұрын
Incest usually involves grooming and promotes little genetic diversity and many health issues. Also, many want polygamy to be legalized for marriage. I myself am fine with polygamy and believe it should be recognized because it doesn’t promote harm. Gay marriage also does not promote little genetic diversity or health issues. Hope this helps. 😊
@notyourdoggo75405 ай бұрын
Incest results in birth defects and is bad for the human gene pool. A famous example of this is for instance the Hapsburgers who were a royal family in Europe that kept inbreeding. Plus if it’s not family members in the same age group, the younger person was most definitely manipulated into it by the older person, thus removing the full consent part. I don’t see a problem with polygamy as long as all parties involved are fully aware and okay with it.
