as previously stated, the 1954 segment is fan made. but ghost chasers 1951 is real, just unrelated & only slightly similar in theme. (more similar in theme is the 1937 mickey mouse cartoon lonesome ghosts) i personally would count 'slimer & the real ghostbusters' as separate from real ghostbusters, since it changed character focus, script style, animation style, & retitled the show. supposedly, the 2009 video game was partly considered as 'ghostbusters 3', but then youd have to include all the games, starting with commodore 64.

What paltryblather is saying is that your direct footage is from the fan made mashup trailer “Premakes - Ghost Busters (1954)” .. the titles are fake, the sound effects are from GB ‘84 - but the original movie footage, yes, is from real movies that were inspirations on Dan Aykroyd in creating GB ‘84.

The real ghostbusters has a different style from 1984's ghostbusters. the appearance of the characters is different. 2 - the uniforms. 3 - friendship with slimer. In Ghostbusters 2, sony had decided that the movie had to be more like cartoon in order not to lose viewers, but also to attract younger ones. For example, Janine in Ghostbusters 2 is much more cartoon-like than she was in 1984. Bob hair, red. Colorful, green clothes. Big glasses. So I didn't include ghostbusters 2 because it reflects a lot of the animated series.

The 'trailer' at the 1954 position was a fan-edited 'pre-make' using clips from multiple movies. There was no film called "Ghostbusters" that year, though the term *was* spoken by Dean Martin in 1953's Scared Stiff (one of the clips edited into the pre-make video.)

@@elwoodjacobs4353 Alas the 'pre-make' breakdown that WhoIsEyevan did seems to have all of its text/subtitles deactivated. It was a great resource for freeze-framing the premake and seeing what movie each clip was paying homage to, as well as where the footage originated. But I do know the actor is Fred MacMurray, so the clip with the ray gun is probably from The Absent Minded Professor or its sequel, Son of Flubber.
