Each Link is a different incarnation of the character either through spirit or directly linked to the bloodline of the Hero (no pun intended). Links like the one in BOTW have always been right handed, so memory loss wouldn’t have mattered in that sense. I shall bother you no longer.

underrated opinion: TP is the better "classic design" but BotW is better in terms of how the series has come far. (Honestly some complain about his new look and quirks which is kinda valid but you cant make the same kind of person and let the dev team constrain their creativity. Thats why Nintendo also let some of their younger employees to pitch an idea to change the zelda formula, but still feel like a Zelda game)

That’s subjective. I personally thought Nintendo could have done a little more with Link in BOTW. He’s much more a blank slate in that game than he is in any other Zelda, to the point where we don’t actually understand what or how he’s feeling in certain moments in the actual story. I understand that there is a lore given explanation for this behavior, but that only ever worked in some memory cutscenes within the story. Otherwise, his constant blank stare and reserved body language, more often than not, kills the moods of a lot of cutscenes within the game. An example would be his reunion with Spirit Mipha. While she goes on about how she awaited for his return, he stands there as if he has nothing better to do than stare blankly. It’s moments like that really stand out and kill the mood of an otherwise emotional scene. A scene in which Link’s emotions are on full display and it doesn’t feel off in the moment is in Skyward Sword, where he attempts to stop Zelda from sealing herself in the past. While yes, the moment before the direct action was a bit silly with the poor execution of his face before the sealing, it doesn’t change the fact that his reaction to situation at hand was *PERFECT* in my own personal opinion. If you’re the kind of person that gets attached to the Zelda of that game, you may be one of the few people that would react in the way Link did in that scene. I especially have to applaud the amount of sorrow you can visibly see on his face at the moment Zelda finishes sealing herself. It doesn’t feel out of place or kills the mood, as the emotional pain he feels is consistent with the scene at hand. I know there are a lot of people who couldn’t give two shits about Skyward Sword, but that doesn’t change the fact that they at least tried to make their Link engaging. That’s it for my rant.

My favorite Link will always be Ocarina of Time. Smash 4 Link looks like a version of TP for children. Also, I wish they kept the camera angle for Link's victory screen#2 from 64. I love that breath link made it into smash but am I the only one who misses the twilight link?
