Mario Kart Wii's Maple Treeway reappears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (as part of Wave 3 of the "Booster Course Pass"), so that arrangement in Paper Mario: The Origami King teased the course's return to that game.

I remember that in paper mario, the first one, there is a reference to Kalimari Desert and its train and there are more soundtracks of Mario Kart in Olympic games as Daisy Circuit in soshi 2014. And well, also, my favorite references are the mount must dash from Mario 3D world and F-zero X Rainbow Road, that with the expansion pack for the DD64, the circuit was exactly as the original one and a song remix.

In project x Zone 1 for the nintendo 3ds when they use different portals to travel through dimensions one of them is rainbow so one the main characters Xiamou suggest that they should use go karts to cross to the other end of the rainbow

0:14 I really don't want to be that guy, but Rainbow Road: Psychedelic Experience isn't the last course in F-Zero X. It's actually the first course of the Joker Cup, which is the last cup of the game that isn't randomized (X Cup is the last one, but it has random tracks) and was part of the base game (the DD1 and DD2 Cups were added to the Japanese version of the game if you had the Expansion Kit for the 64DD). Besides X (the name of all courses in the X Cup), Big Blue: Japan (the final course in DD1 Cup that is shaped like Japan), and Big Foot: Very Deadly Curves (the final course in DD2 Cup that is shaped like a foot), the final course of the game is Big Hand: Deadly Curves, which is shaped like a hand. Cool fact about Rainbow Road in F-Zero X: having the Expansion Kit changes the music to a metal cover of Rainbow Road's theme from Mario Kart 64! Great video otherwise!
