Well, when he explained that they looked a lot like the plush toys available at the time, this starts to make sense. From the beginning, the Walt Disney Company was operating on a business model that the theme parks and even the movies would serve to increase merchandising opportunities, and if the costumes looked like the toys, it would increase sales of the toys available at the time. I think my tops are 70's, 80's-90's (when I was 9, I got to meet one of those Mickey's and I loved how soft his ears were, that's the main reason), 2004 and the two newest additions.
