Well, when he explained that they looked a lot like the plush toys available at the time, this starts to make sense. From the beginning, the Walt Disney Company was operating on a business model that the theme parks and even the movies would serve to increase merchandising opportunities, and if the costumes looked like the toys, it would increase sales of the toys available at the time. I think my tops are 70's, 80's-90's (when I was 9, I got to meet one of those Mickey's and I loved how soft his ears were, that's the main reason), 2004 and the two newest additions. I honestly like the 1978 and 1987 ones the best, I think the 1978 one looks really great for its time and the 1987 (and 2004) one was the one I grew up with. The '87 one looks really cool too. Honestly, the new one it reminds me of the 1962 one because his eyes are all the way down.
