I’ve seen comments on BeardBear’s Guest Star Allies playthrough saying that Morpho Knight was the prototype of Meta Knight. I couldn’t believe it at first, but now I’ve asked myself, “Why wasn’t it called Proto Knight?”

Because Morpho Knight wasn't the prototype version of Meta Knight, he was from Kirby GCN.

I may be crazy but hear me out. We know meta knight and his variants have one or both powers (MK: Sword, Dark MK: Sword/Crystal), but seeing the first origin of Morpho Knight means two things. 1.- The "Fusion" implies both having powers and fusing them, bc if only one doesn't have powers then there's no fusion, so that and the knights powers make Galacta Knight having Sword power and an unknown/mystery power possibly 'galactic' or something powerful (no it doesn't look like the only power it has is sword and if Dark MK has a Crystal power, Galacta Knight wouldn't be less powerful). But hey, as I said if one of them doesn't have powers the fusion doesn't success, SO the damn Butterfly ALSO has an unknown power and maybe it's not a 'meh' one. And that makes Morpho Knight a "Dark Matter Relevants" level threat, but by being a newborn fusion/starting to learn its new abilities (See second point) it doesn't have its full cosmical power. 2.- The Fusion has a strong part who is one of the characters controlling the fusion and the other lending the power (that's why the main and secondary abilities) and Galacta Knight IS NOT the main, but the Butterfly IS. Why? Because when the heart appears in the butterfly the one who vanishes is Galacta and the butterfly flies up, and when the merging is occurring some "butterflies" appears around Morpho. And it's not that powerful as I said because the Butterfly is adapting to its new form.
