Fun fact: the Wii remote was meant to be an new controller for the GameCube, and Nintendo even made a prototype of it with wired connection to the console, but later they pushed it to be launched with the Wii since the GC didn't sell that well.

You can customize them yourself. I changed my joycons to indigo to match my Gamecube controller. It's very easy and only takes like half an hour to complete. I would definitely recommend to do it if you want colors that aren't available through Nintendo. Edit: You can also change the backplate which takes less than 5 minutes, I did that as well.

You forgot some things, 1. New style SNES/Super Famicom Jr. 2. iQue Player (Chinese Exclusive), 2003. 3. Wii Mini, Late 2012 (Around the same release date as the Wii U). 4 & 5: NES/Famicom Classic; SNES/Super Famicom Classic. 6: The Wii Classic Pro, 2008 (Repositioned the cord, made the controller look more conventional, and has 2 handles)

The next controller from Nintendo should have the A, B, C, X, Y, and Z buttons on the left side. The analogs should be on the right side. The triggers should have force sensitivity, and it should have a guide button which is either the Super Mario symbol, or the Nintendo logo.
