SNES: The original, the one that started it all. N64: THIS is the longest, not the 3DS one. Takes like 6 minutes to drive three laps around the course. GameCube: Best music. Most meme-worthy also (“It’s called a road, it’s called a rainbow road” anyone?) Gameboy: I...honestly don’t know what to say about this one. DS: Now THIS is the most nostalgic (but Wii is close second). Wii: Most magical. And the hardest. 3DS: Most adventurous (you get to literally drive on Saturn’s ring and on the moon itself). Double Dash had some good tracks, but Mario Kart DS is when they got amazing at making tracks. Then they got the gameplay part down with Wii and improved it with 7 and especially with 8, which feels like the perfect Mario Kart game. Track-wise DS was revolutionary, gameplay-wise Wii was revolutionary.

The original might be nostalgic to some people but personally I find it to look so ugly. It’s the worst Rainbow Road, imo. The remaster however? It’s my favorite, next to the Wii/3DS one. The MK8 N64 Rainbow Road is absolutely GORGEOUS and I love the steampunk edition SO MUCH. Definitely the best Rainbow Road thus far.

No he jugado muchos de los mario kart pero por lo que vi este es mi top: 5:mk8d, en esto no estoy de acuerdo con otros porque el hecho de que haya una parte que no sea parte de la pista o se siente muy artificial conducir por una estación espacial, pero la música me hace sentir fuera del planeta y por eso no está más abajo 4:mkds, buen diseño, me encantaría competir ahí, pero la música la pudieron haber hecho mejor 3:mkwii, buen diseño, una pista tranquila pero a la vez movida, y la música... por el hecho que esté un pedazo de gusty garden me hace recordar mucho a mi infancia jugando súper Mario galaxy 2:mk64, diseño movido, me gusta la accion y las curvas difíciles, la música, no tengo que hablar mucho, temazo, una música que te tranquiliza muy fácilmente 1:mk7, que puedo decir, un diseño diferente a los demás, no solo conduces en una senda, también en los anillos de Saturno y en la luna, se que suena contradictorio porque dije que conducir en una estación espacial se me hacía incómodo pero bueno... ...la... ...música... espectacular. All Time Favorite: MK3DS. The gliding is what made this track so much fun, gliding onto and from Saturn was so cool. The ramp/tunnel on the final lap still gets my adrenaline going (can't tell you how many times I was neck and neck with a Japanese player, and actually pulled ahead) Most Nostalgic: MKDS. This was one of the first games I owned myself, when I first got a ds lite (was in 1st grade I believe iirc). I remember having tournaments with the other kids at my small school during the early morning care, and having so much fun playing against shy guys, poltergust 4000's, cheep cheep beach, block fortress, etc. Most Intense/Engaging: MKWii. The first few seconds of this rainbow road is why this is such an intense course. The very first time I played it, I actually wondered where the course was, since it just went straight and then just stopped. I remember just gunning it, racing to the edge, and having an "Oh Crap" moment as I crested at the wrong angle and was now about to go flying off the edge of the track and plummet down to earth. Most Overused/Bland: MKSNES. Why is Nintendo so obsessed with this map? It's literally just a monopoly board where you occasionally make a left turn towards community chest and have whomps as obstacles. Most Missed Potential: MK8/8DX. Why can't it combine all of the things that made the last few Rainbow Roads so great? At least the remake of N64 RR managed to recover what was dropped by the new one.

I personally think Mario Kart 7 has the best rainbow road track in front of MKWii because it is the most nostalgic and is more then just a rainbow road. But just like Mario Kart 8, it just was mostly a space ship but I like what they did. In MK7 you get to drive on the rings of Saturn, on the moon, and on floating asteroids. That’s why MK7 is the best rainbow road
