Let me just give you a stupid story from history… On November 16, 1916, British Hospital Ship, HMHS Britannic leave port for Naples Italy to pick up 300 wounded soldiers and go to Greece. On November 19, 1916, Britannic arrives at the Naples Italian port just when the sun is rising. On the tragic morning of November 21, 1916, The HMHS Britannic strikes a mine which was put by German U-Boat, U-53. The ships boilers and storage rooms quickly start flooding on the left side of the ship, giving it a 5 degree or so list. As Lifeboats start to deploy, the engine’s are still running, meaning the propellers are still rotating. About 2-4 lifeboats were unlucky due to the propellers sucking them in and destroying them. The ship has about a 30 degree lean at this point and hits the Aegean Sea Floor. Overall, the ship took a small 55 minutes to sink and 30 were killed. The older sister of the ships, the Olympic was now the only child since her sisters, Titanic (1912) and Britannic (1916) were sunk. The Olympic would have a wild career which I will break down sweetly and small. After the sinking of the Britannic, the Olympic was fitted to be a troopship for the remainder of WWI, become a cruise liner again and be scrapped in 1935. Another steam locomotive of a ship that sunk with the titanic and britannic was the Lusitania. In 1915, the Lusitania was an auxiliary war ship-passenger liner carrying munitions and ammo to Britain. It was leaving New York going to Liverpool which is where the titanic was launched. Sadly the German U-Boat, U-20, fired upon the Lusitania hitting the ship in the Starboard mid-front section. The ship had over 1,197 casualties and sunk in 18 minutes. Only 761 passengers survived the sinking. So in total, I told you 3 stories about 3 different ships. Rate my accuracy

And the left (port is the actual term) you said that the mine struck is actually the starboard (right) but pretty good telling; Edit: also "steam locomotive" doesn't exist, it's just steam ship or ship.

I think the iceberg strike was something more like 11:40 (small thing) Timeline of sinking (personal theory): 11:40 pm: Titanic strikes an iceberg on her starboard side, the damage being small gashes from about the nameplate to just about aft of the first funnel Approx 12:25: The first lifeboat (No. 7) is launched Approx 2:10: the bridge goes under + the 1st funnel collapses shortly after Approx 2:17: Titanic splits in half between 2nd and 3rd funnels, then splits again between 3rd and 4th funnels 2:20: Titanic goes under, and travels 3.8 km to the ocean floor

-(31st May 1911): Titanic is launched at 12:13 at the Harland and Wolff Shipyards in Belfast, Ireland. Tickets were sold to get a seat to watch this launch and over 100,000 people witnessed it. From the moment it touched the waters in Belfast Lough it was the biggest ship in existence, beating Cunard Line's RMS Mauretania. -(31st May 1911 - 2nd April 1912): Titanic is moved down the river to Hamilton Dock and the fitting out process begins. This sees Titanic's interior be constructed . -(10th April 1912): By the 3rd April 1912 Titanic was cleared for service and sailed out of Belfast and down to Southampton, England, arriving just before midnight. Here it sits for the next few days until the ship departs on the 10th April 1912 at 12:00 noon with 920 passengers onboard. It proceeds down to Cherbourg, France and then over to Queenstown (now Cobh), Ireland where it drops off some passengers and letters. -(14th April 1912, 11:40): At 23:39 on the 14th April 1912, Titanic's lookout Frederick Fleet [1887 - 1965] spotted a large mound in the distance. He reported this to the bridge via the crow's nest phone and 1st Officer William Murdoch [1873 - 1912] ordered the ship to be turned to avoid the iceberg. The effort was futile however and just 37 seconds later Titanic's port (left) side struck the iceberg and ripped open a 220 foot long gash. 5 of the 16 watertight compartments on the ship got ripped open, but Titanic could only survive with 4 breached. Titanic immediately begins to sink. -(15th April 1912, 01:50): Titanic sends out its last distress message to the ship SS Frankfurt. Frankfurt does not fully understand the weight of Titanic's situation and keeps asking useless questions. Eventually Titanic's generators are unable to continue functioning, as nobody is tending to them anymore. The ship is plunged into darkness. -(15th April 1912, 02:16): Titanic has been pointed skywards for too long now and the ship's hull is stressing. Unable to hold itself up, its keel eventually snaps and the ship's stern plummets into the water. The ship's bow eventually snaps off and plummets to the seafloor, but the stern briefly rises and sinks a few minutes later at 02:20. -(15th April 1912, 03:10): Titanic's bow hits the seafloor 3.8 kilometres below the surface, the stern following shortly after landing a mile away. -(1st September 1985): Throughout the 1960s and 70s, there had been several ideas proposed to locate or even raise the Titanic, but none of them really had a chance at being successful. In 1985 the famous ocean explorer Robert Ballard [1942 - Now] received a sizeable grant from the US Government to try and locate two nuclear submarines that had sunk earlier in the Cold War. He was told that if he had any time left over after the discovery of these submarines, he could look for the Titanic. He ended up discovering the submarines within a few days and had 12 days left over to search. During this time he discovered pieces of wreckage scattered over the seafloor. Upon following them he made the famous discovery of Titanic. -(18th June 2023): Since

Guys, did you know the titanic is still out there? There’s another titanic ship.
Titanic has a new friend: play station controller?
@robertsanders53557 ай бұрын
Had the Titanic had watertight integrity like naval ships it never would have sank. The problem was the main spaces were never sealed from the top so it flooded like an ice tray. Place a watertight hatch on top of the entrance to the main spaces that can be lowered to seal them independently from each other and it would stopped water flow and the ship would have finished the voyage with a lowered bow.
@pc_buildyb0i9356 ай бұрын
Not true. Even a modern ship, with the proportionate iceberg damage Titanic received, would have sank. Even had the Titanic's bulkheads reached her strength deck, 6 full compartments were more than enough to expose the open air vents and Sirocco fans to the influx of North Atlantic ocean water. The Navy lost destroyers in WWI and WWII during typhoons in the Pacific where they'd roll over 100 degrees and downflood through their funnels. They all had watertight bulkheads reaching the strength deck and sealing each compartment. It made no difference and they all sank anyway. The only difference fully sealed compartments would have made is to somewhat slow the sinking of the ship. That's all. While we're on the subject of watertight compartments, no ship had ever before been designed with fully sealed compartments. This was standard for the day.
@robertsanders53556 ай бұрын
@@pc_buildyb0i935 The ship was designed to withstand the first four compartments flooded, but five were flooding at the same time. Had the ship had watertight integrity on all lower spaces they could've held back water with their pumps. They did report that the pumps they had could not keep up with the massive flow, so the effort was abandoned. Take into account this was a calm night and not a storm, so they could have made it thru.

No, what's untrue it's been debunked, and a submarine wouldn't have been in an iceberg field in the Atlantic, and not many tensions were rising, and torpedos were not really being used or tested back then. And why would they even shoot the titanic. And the titanic didn't even have ammo on it, so it couldn't have split in half like that

RMS Titanic was a British ocean liner that sank on 15 April 1912 as a result of striking an iceberg on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City, United States. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, 1,496 died, making the incident the deadliest sinking of a single ship at the time.[a] Titanic, operated by the White Star Line, carried some of the wealthiest people in the world, as well as hundreds of emigrants from the British Isles, Scandinavia, and elsewhere in Europe who were seeking a new life in the United States and Canada. The disaster drew public attention, spurred major changes in maritime safety regulations, and inspired a lasting legacy in popular culture.
