Nightwing was previously Robin. Three characters have taken up the mantle of Robin in Batman comics. First is Dick Grayson who later becomes Nightwing, second is Tim Drake and the third is Damian Wayne, who is Bruce Wayne's biological son with Talia Al Ghul. Unlike the other two Robins, Damian's Robin is more like his maternal grandfather Ra's Al Ghul. It's because he grew up with his mother Talia and the League of Assassins. He was also trained by them. So he uses lethal weapons like swords and bombs.
