I’ll never forget being a kid, budokai 3 was how I was exposed to dragon ball. I saw it on one of of those demos in target. Moms got it for me for my birthday and I couldn’t stop playing it. I’ll never forget seeing SSj for the first time and thinking it was the coolest shit ever. Then comcast on demand had damn near the whole frieza saga on including the ssj goku vs frieza segments and I lost my shit that summer binge watching that shit! Goku legit became my hero as a kid and vegeta became my role model when he sacrificed himself for his friends and family. I’ll never forget accidentally unlocking ssj4 goku and vegeta on Budokai 3 and thinking it was the coolest shit ever seeing gogeta do big bang kamehameha x100. Getting my ass kicked by broly’s huge ass and then watching the legendary ssj movie on repeat. Idek how I got meta cooler and broly on dvd it was like some promotional shit that came with a game or something but man this franchise has brought so many exciting moments in my life!

But anyways, sequels are known for major improvements in case of mechanics and graphics, especially when there is almost 2 decades between it....But this game is particular worse in graphic than a DBZ game from 2004...with 20 YEARS difference... Second: the "new" mechanics they show here are simply stolen mini games from DBL, a damn phone game ..wtf. The third thing, the character choosing screen....it can't be more worse than that. Just copied/paste boring a** click&go without any depth, love or dedication. The whole gaming community just went completely undemanding since there are no hard copies anymore and they deliver less and less quality each year since 10 years when it comes to releasing new "innovative" games.

@@ma.g.2290 how the graphics are worse? It's literally objectively the best looking Dragonball game to this date, it gets Shintani's style perfectly. It's literally the closest to source material you can get Second complain you have is literally irrelevant because it might be similar mechanic but it still works quite different. There a re different styles of clashes, Beam clashes yeah they're similar to DBL but grab and rush clashes are completely different. And the gameplay overall is faster than BT3, as well. And character select screen is chosen to have seamless transition into the stage. It might be not perfect but it's clearly really creative.

I say this again and again, Sparking Zero lacks just in 1 department "IMPACT" , be it the blasts or the transformations , its just a bit fast, (i understand they wanna have fast pace but you can't do it at cost of IMPACT) LOOK at budokai 3 and sparking zero transformation. The difference is clear. Even sparking 3 (budokai tenkaichi 3) had good impact of blasts Its meaningless if your character and the Blasts dont feel heavy and powerful Budokai 3 ssj4 feels so powerful because as it enters it takes time to showcase its power by that charge up sound And then that 100x big bang kamehameha , u can actually feel the power by voice of character, sound of charge itself and then the release Please take note, just due to this aspect it will make a HUGE difference
