I wish Epic Games would release the source code of Unreal Engine 1. Although being realistic. I think it is unlikely to happen as Epic prefers to focus more on supporting the current Unreal Engine 4. While the previous engines, they prefer to leave them abandoned and the source code may already be lost.

Id does this, but doesn't provide support for them. It leaves support up to the community, and Epic could do much the same.

It's sad that Gamers can't access the Unreal Engine 1 Source Code. If they did, they would make their own games if possible.

I think a game is missing from the list: Rollcage In PC Gamer magazine at that time, the development of Rollcage was announced as a son of Unreal, this along with other titles such as Deus Ex, Wheel of Time, X-Com etc.
