It's funny. I started liking Waluigi because of how much of a joke he is, I liked him ironically. But I have actually grown to like him unironically. He's such a bizarre character, that's his charm. A bizarre, sore loser who thinks everyone else cheats, but it's fine if he does it. I love when he dances and when he pulls out a rose too. Why does he do that? No idea. He's waluigi. He does what he wants.

There was a lot of hype when he was first introduced on Mario Tennis 64 and rumours that he would be the main villain in Luigi’s Mansion. None of this happened though and it became clear that he was just there to be an extra background Mario mini game character (Party, Tennis, Golf, Mario Kart etc). With all this in mind it’s kind of not that surprising he’s not in Smash, which requires some individuality.
