Squeak Squad has gotta be, bar none, the most aggressive Meta Knight has ever been (ignoring clones of him or cases where he's being mind controlled or manipulated). The wiki said that rather than "test/train" Kirby in that game, he actually intended to win at any cost in order to prevent Kirby from releasing Dark Nebula from its treasure chest prison (although he didn't know Kirby thought his cake was in the chest). Meta Knight notably DOESN'T offer Kirby a sword in that fight despite there being an ability bubble for it before his room. That, combined with his elemental moves -- WHICH HAVEN'T BEEN SEEN IN ANY PRIOR KIRBY GAME, implying he had been holding back in previous games when he fights Kirby -- and his relentless battle style unbecoming of an honorable swordsman, just tells you how much he wanted to prevent Kirby from opening the box, misunderstanding aside.

Meta Knight is a hero, though initially, he was a villain which has that changed since RtDL. He was obviously Kirby's rival and wanted dominance in Super Star, but now since he was playable in RtDL he has never been a boss in Kirby unless he's been possessed by something like dark matter. Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot feature Meta Knight clones, and he was only fought in Star Allies because he was possessed. But you can befriend Meta Knight right after the fight.

I saw him as more of an antagonist in Adventure and Nightmare in Dream Land simply because Dedede left a piece of the Star Rod for him to protect. Same goes for him in Squeak Squad; he's only trying to keep Kirby from opening the chest containing Dark Nebula.

Oh my god... The Kirby series has come a long way. I can't believe that Kirby is around for almost 30 years now. You can't see the evolution. Only If you put the games side by side will you understand that, yes kirby games have evolved... I mean we've gone from fighting an evil penguin who just wanted to steal food, to literal gods(demons) and ultra powerful ancient knights I can't wait what the series holds for us in the future.

For Example Waddle Dees do not take commands they just sit there and do their thing. They don't follow orders like,for example,Taranza.But yes I do agree that Kirby has saved the universe several times. So maybe he is sadistic but also a hero.
