Thanks for 10 likes from the All Windows startup screens series and here are all Windows shutdown screens from Windows 1.0 to 11.
Evolution of Windows Startup screens: • (Updated) Evolution of...
P.S:I accidentally mixed up the clip of Windows Server 2016 and Windows server 2019 part, but there are not much difference between Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019.
Please be minded :
1. For some technological problem, I cannot install sound driver on Windows NT 3.1.If the sound driver is installed properly,it will play chimes.wav as shutdown sound.
2. From Windows 98 to Windows Whistler build 2481 , and Windows Server 2003, the shutdown sound is disabled by default
Here are the changes from the Windows startup screen series
1. Added the Windows NT and Windows server versions, and also Windows 3.0 with Multimedia Extensions 1.0, the first version of Windows with sound
2.Added changes on intro and outro
3.changes in titles of the introducing of every version of Windows
P.S , before dislike this video , please notes:
1.Windows do not have sounds before windows 3.0 MME.
2.Windows NT 5.0 Beta 1 and Beta 2 used windows NT 4.0 as shutdown sounds instead of windows 2000 beta 3 build 1946-1969 startup sound. The long startup sound is introduced in build 1671 and used until build 1911. Before that , Windows NT 5.0 used Windows NT 4.0 startup and shutdown sounds.
4.Windows Whistler used 2000 sounds until build 2485(2481 does have windows xp sounds but they still use 2000 sounds as default).
5.The windows longhorn sounds that widespread believe • Windows Vista Beta Sou... is fake and never used in any windows longhorn builds. The origin of the sound theme is actually came from an official Samsung desktop theme for Windows XP. Windows longhorn used windows XP sounds until 5840.16384(while later builds used Windows Vista RTM Logoff sound as the shutdown sound.)
6.Starting from Windows 8 , there are not any shutdown sound because the "exit windows" was removed .
For lazy people ;)

For those too young to remember, in Windows 95 & 98 the reason it says *'It is now safe to turn off your computer'* in big orange letters was because back then the computer's power switch was not yet a relay controlled by the motherboard. It was a big clunky mechanical switch you had to flip by hand. And there was a foot of snow on it each time!!

I remember my grandpa showed me how to do this when I was 4 or 5 years old. I always wondered in retrospect why shutting it down was such a long process. Thanks for solving one of my childhood mysteries!

@@srr8890 - Well yeah, but Microsoft worked with PC makers to integrate the power control into Windows control for Windows 95. PCs didn't all still have the old, big flip switch by then, most had a push button. But it was NOT a momentary push button like today, it was a push on/push off power button. When you turned it on the button stayed in a little, and when you pushed it off it came back out. The physical switch controlled the flow of electricity, like a light switch. In order for the motherboard to control it, it had to have a relay controlling the switch, essentially an 'electric switch for the switch'. Or a 'solid state' switch. Almost all electronics have these today. You push and hold it to turn it on or off. Even small devices have a rudimentary OS built-in so everything has to 'boot up'!

Whether folks concur or not, it's hard to deny that Windows Vista was truly a visionary concept. Unfortunately, its potential was curbed by hardware constraints, leading to its downfall. Nevertheless, the building blocks laid by Vista paved the path for the successes of Windows 7, 10, and 11. Drop a like if you vibe with this tech evolution talk! 💙👍
