Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Next time you should be allowed to add in a few parts between rounds, because the way you did it now, only the parts of Scrapman's and Kan's vehicles kept getting multiplied, regardless of who would have won. Adding in only 2-5 original parts between rounds would make for huge troll potential.

Yeah, I was thinking powered planes, but gliders would work too. They'd probably need to, like, flip some wing pieces upside-down to provide downforce in a powered plane, otherwise there'd be too much lift. On the other hand, the exponential *weight* gain might help with that...

the reason that kan's vehicle was being raised when he went above 100 is due to the fact that he has an uneven amount of wheels in the front and back and because trailmakers allows you to steer your chair without any hinges (left, right, up, and down) his vehicle was trying to pitch down after a specific point.

and then they all race with that vehicle? orr they have teams of 2 with no communication when building but ur teammate is on the opposite team when building so he can make it pretty janky but just no explosives or glitches or brakes and then when they are done building they do rock handbook weld tool and that decides what team gets what car to race with. @@Egerit100 true but in all that they must connect every piece, you can't add or delete any pieces. They also will want to have a nicely balanced plane which is also fast. If someone decides to choose chaos like Cosmo did, it could get hectic pretty fast. Because you can get a plane without connections where you need them and get weird stuff like wings facing forward. Which you don't want because that makes you way more sensitive to turning.

Please do this multiplayer Monday idea: 2 teams of 2, one team is made of mortars which lob explosives, then the other team is flak cannons, to shoot them outta the air. The flak cannons shoot bullets that detach from blocks from themselves, then lailunch the bullets.

Idea for MM: Creating vehicles for a game played in the middle ages called "Duck on a rock". It is played by placing a somewhat large stone (known as a "duck") upon a larger stone or a tree stump. One player stays near the stone to guard it. The other players throw stones at the "duck" in an attempt to knock it off of the platform. Once it is knocked off, the throwers all rush to retrieve their stones. If a player is tagged before returning to the throwing line with their stone, they become the guard. Rules: Every player to be tagged twice is eliminated (Last man standing wins) Beach Ball as rock Metal Crate/Beach Ball Dispenser for throwing rocks No thrusters 14 power cores (A mechanism sort of like what you would use before you get the electromagnet in trailmakers campaign would be recommended for retrieving "rocks")

Oh man. If you do another fusion race. Do it as a series of different Race Courses. Round 1 for the initial build, round 2 for the fusion build; start fresh for the next race. Start Limit: 3 power cores. During second round's fusion, you can number of wheels, hinges/steering, by one set. I don't know why any of you don't use a Raw Jet and a Bulldog Engine for a 3 power core machine, it outpaces the Dragon Engine by a longshot.

Delete cockpits, start with only two wheels, only keep half the wheels and power cores rounded down from the losing car. It would also be cool if you could overlay your builds during building time. Trailmakers Idea: Evolution Bombers, New Game type theory(Arms Race Maybe?): you have a base build that is probably mid evolution, then you can put weapons on it but only 2 power cores at a time, Bomber Escort: Escort a bomber to say, the carrier from the snowy island and the bomber cannot repair and the escorting plane cannot repair but the attackers can.

Hey Scrapman: I have an idea for multiplayer monday: A shrinking race or shrink-down race. Everyone starts with a 32X32 vehicle. At the first checkpoint you have to cut down your vehicle to a 16X16 vehicle. At the next checkpoint you cut it to an 8X8 vehicle. And maybe even a 4X4 at the end. You can chose during your build if you want to connect things with cardboard, so you can fire a (mounted)spudgun to disconnect the rest of the car. Or you can just delete some blocks. You would be allowed to use your connection tool and change settings. (you could even start with 64X64 for the extra big start)

You guys have raced all kinds of craft. Cars, trucks, bikes, boats, submarines, planes, gliders and probably others I'm forgetting. But have you ever raced rockets? You know, rockets? As in space race, first to the moon, try not to go boom, vertical flight rockets. I know you can't actually get into space in Trailmakers, but maybe you could do first to hit the skybox? Or put altitude sensors on them and do first to reach a certain height? Or, and I have no idea if this is even possible, attach explosives to the rockets that trigger when you reach a certain altitude and have the winner be the first to make their rocket go boom.

I believe kosmo had it right all the wheels at the back glitched trail makers and created a gyroscopic force stopping it from changing position. Every time it gets a slight bump it is enough to push it up but gravity is not enough to fully pull it back down.

If you do a future fusion instead of taking the full block count each person colors lets say 20 blocks that have to be implemented into the winning vehicle. Make it so the winning vehicle retains its color scheme but the fusion pieces also retain their original creators colors so the new pieces stand out. After a victory the new winner gets a full paint job before adding the next set of new parts.

If you follow proper evolution methods the vehicles would choose randomly between the 2 parent vehicles for each set of parameters. So if the parents were the 5 wheel car and the 4 wheel car you would flip a coin to see which value to use. The general layout of the slope pieces would be done as a coin toss between the 2 cars(minor variance allowed to simulate mutation). Then the same for aerodynamic fins and spoilers, potentially adding 1~2 for mutation due to selection pressure for controlability. Then maybe add a power core to simulate mutation due to selection pressure for speed.
