I’ve ever heard in videos and seeing him have fun is awesome!! I’d like more I’d like to think doing a podcast KZbin rewatching old wrestling can be exhausting but this episode is super fun and he gets to express himself more than I’ve normally seen!! Long live the deadlock!! These guys rock and make me laugh way to much I’m a guy that shares similar opinions and I don’t have many friends into wrestling so listening to these guys talk about these old episodes is nonstop amazing

Interesting how in the discussion about the most recent PPVs before this, the two main events that disappointed in terms of buy rates had Triple H in them - wasn't this right in the Reign of Terror era? Were people already getting jaded on Trips at this point? Might've been a factor. Also, god damn the Sean O'Haire Devil's Advocate could've been one of the coolest gimmicks in history. Haven't got a clue why he got paired up with Roddy Piper, the pairing made NO sense.
@eddygm88610 ай бұрын
Yep, The Reign of Terror lasted from 2002 (ever since being awarded the World Heavyweight Championship) to 2005 (when Batista beat him at WrestleMania 21), it still felt like torture even when he wasn’t holding the title because he was still the main focus of Raw
@WrestlingGod-f4v10 ай бұрын
yeah, I heard a little bit about Sean O ‘haire the dude he was talented as fuck I think he could’ve been like one of the most people to be a successful main event superstar I think if he was still alive I think he would of help all the newer current stars that we have see today I believe the reason why they had him team up with Roddy Piper was because I believe piper was trying to get him over and I believe that is the only reason why they decided to have them team together because Sean he was dragging all the way through down the card and after the devils advocate stuff didn’t work out they almost kind of didn’t know what to do with him at first but they had him team with Piper just so that way if Piper can get him over again so that way he can make Piper bring back the mystique he once had and they were great together and I want to say the fans got behind them a little bit but then things didn’t work out with Sean in wwe and he tragically died in 2002 I want to say he died due to drug use but I could be wrong on that if I’m correct someone please let me know but I believe he passed away like way too soon he could’ve been like the next rising star of WWE around that time but the dude wasn’t really all there in the head he got arrested so many times his demons were like very very bad dude was always angry at somebody against the roster he always had like anger and attitude problems and multiple of other things why he didn’t reach to the top like he would in WWE and from some of the stories I’ve heard he did a lot of crazy shit like things wasn’t so good for him it’s a tragic story I think they should make like a dark side of the Ring episode all around him of how things didn’t work well for his life and his time when he was in WWE like I would say if he like, had someone to snap some sense into him and he would’ve got better with his demons he could’ve been world champion material but I don’t think it would’ve change anything to be honest but yeah I used to watch like old clips of some of his matches in WCW and WWE the dude was talented as shit like he had something going but you know real life problems just got in his way but bro like imagine if he was in AEW or WWE still to this day he would either help out some talent or he would of still be wrestling and trying to come up with other ideas to get himself over and relevant again like imagine him being with the house of black or had some other different gimmick like the house of black or something else that would’ve been cooler but yeah, I agree the devils advocate gimmick could’ve been one of the most coolest gimmicks in WWE history if they would’ve done it correctly but they always drop the ball like they always does and it will always be pro wrestling what if type of stories

I’ll let everyone who reads this decide if this is a hot take, but here goes: “You Can Run” should’ve gone to Steven Richards and NOT Billy Kidman. He was ½ of an on-screen crazy couple. Billy Kidman did NOT have a gimmick of being crazy, at least until a botch of the Shooting Star Press at a _SmackDown!_ TV taping when something went wrong (maybe he didn’t get full rotation?) against Chavo. His knee hit him in his temple...very scary to see - and even crazier, this happened on 8/26/2004 airdate for that show, so not long at all after the episode of _RAW_ (8/16/2004, a week and a half LOL) Tony and James watched and recapped/reviewed.

My understanding from various interviews is Ric was hurt and was to miss time so they had to get the belt off him and onto Bret ASAP. That is also why the match was so bad, flair had no balance and had to fight through the match just to get it done. This was the first time I heard it was from the Warrior, no surprise.

Classic WWE thinking their style is the only style that works. They took a big guy who could do athletic things he shouldn't have been able to do, and quite literally said sLoW iT doWn and learn how to work kid. They then proceeded to train everyone like that for the next fifteen years and had almost no exciting matches till they raided all the indies and NXT popped off.
