Just got this shoe in the mail and I'm in love. Never had love at first sight with a climbing shoe (more like love -developing -slowly -over- time- as -the -pain- of -breaking- them- in- wears- off haha)

@@indymel9948 Thanks for checking in again! We just confirmed with Evolv that the Phantom has been pushed back again. I don't have details, other than the new release date is "Fall."

Thanks for the update! It's a shame that this is getting pushed back, because it looked interesting. It's good that they're delaying, rather than releasing a flawed product though. Maybe they'll finally get back to more presence in Europe as well.

​@@saifmanman Thanks for checking in about this! So in July when we asked, Evolv was hoping for Sept 2019. BUT, then Evolv was bought by Oberalp (who owns Salewa, Dynafit, Wild Country), so there were a bunch of last minute changes and transitions. Unfortunately for the Phantom that means it's been pushed out. At this point, Jan 2020 should be a safe bet. (Though if you want to be the first to have a pair, you can try searching in Nov/Dec.)

How is it for Greek feet? Seems like the neoprene would help with that...

It wasn't designed with Greek feet in mind and the toe profile is still very asymmetric, but you're right, the neoprene should allow for some flex in the toes regardless of your toe profile. -AD

@@WeighMyRack +Vice Presi This question should be asked at every shoe showcase if you can. Us Greek feet don't get enough love. It's so hard having to research a shoe beforehand to make sure it fits, and even harder having to wait for brand new shoes to be tested by people with Greek foot. Sometimes an entire year can go by and you still won't get verification that the shoe fits Greek feet. Please make this a staple question for new shoes WMR.

I'll stick to La Sportiva myself because the Miura fits better than anything else, but my partner climbs with the Evolv Shakra's and she loves them. I will say this, Evolv rubber seems to last forever

Didn't matt birch have a major role in the design of these shoes? Why is he not credited?

Thanks for asking Dan. At this point, we're not sure if Matt Birch was a part of the project or not. In general, I would say the designers don't usually get credited unless they're a big name shoe designer, or one of the biggest athlete names. We've heard Daniel Wood's name come up regarding Phantom design/testing, but didn't hear Matt's. Not sure if that's because he wasn't part of the project, or if he wasn't a part of the project when we originally filmed this video almost 2 years ago, or perhaps the person we filmed didn't know about his involvement. Not sure, I'll send a note out to ask. Thanks for checking in and looking to give credit where it's due. -AD
