8:21 I think you're probably right about the aim-assist, because as keyboard and mouse player, I can land decent shots with the combat pretty consistently, whereas in your gameplay earlier in the video I was surprised to see how few shots were actually landing for you with it when your aim is usually much better than mine.

Yeah, my experience with gyro aiming is similar to your experience on mouse. I can get quite a few consistent hits from any shotgun as a result.

for me as a controller player the combat randomly goes back to center during battles where aim assist is really helping, I've died many time to it.

I play both controller and m&kb, and they both have weird aim glitches right now. I've experienced what you mentioned on controller, and on m&kb when I ads it randomly flicks straight up at the sky. I actually thought my mouse was defective until I saw the same thing happen to Ninja.

Gatekeeper. This season is...i spent the better part of 2 years getting my skills good enough to have a 20% win rate only to have this season. 3 wins in 40 games. And my s3cond win I earned a pacifist badge😅

I like using the combat shotgun, it's great for distance and fun to use. The gatekeeper is still the better shotgun though.

Every time I've tried to use the Combat this season, I've been fried so quickly. super disheartening weapon. With all my lobbies so far, it seems like no-one goes to Grim Gate anymore, so I drop there, check for any third parties, then I get Cerberus's mythic pretty uncontested. And If i come across a legendary or epic gatekeeper later in game and feel like i can get to a mod bench I will switch. But getting Cerberus mythic, then visiting Jonesy and buying a purple thunderburst smg at the windmill near Nitrodrome has been a good loot rotation.

I like oscars because i love landing at classy and its nice against the fists, the amount of shots you can get in while they are bouncing around in your face. They definitely seem shocked when they get blown away. Gatekeeper all the way if i dont go classy or if i find purp or gold.

I prefer to use gatekeeper, thunder burst, and boom bolt; but if I drop at Classy I take Oscars frenzy because it kinda frees up an inventory slot since it doesn’t need another short range backup like the gatekeeper does.

Why are there 4 shotguns in the game? Like wtf, Epic devs don’t really know how to not have a loot pool with overlapping items or just extra shit. I mean I wouldn't really count Oscars mythic frenzy. There's only ONE on the map and it's usually out of the first circle most of the time anyways and I've only seen maybe 8 people with it

Technically 3 shotguns in the actual loot pool and we already had a wide variety of shotguns coexisting in chapter 4 if we take into account the exotic shotguns like mavens, drum shotguns, havoc pump, heavy shotguns, sharp tooth, infiltrator… Chapter 4 Season 2 had the pump, combat shotgun and maven shotgun + exotics (similar to this season)

Most of my matches I can’t find good warforged and gatekeeper. 50 matches and only found 1 legendary gatekeeper and 4 purple gatekeeper (2 out of 4 I couldn’t edit cuz of cars). I can’t find good weapons at all, so I basically drop every time at Machinist’s Lair.

I lost couple times to the Nitro fist's and feel like the gatekeeper could have bailed me out of those situations, but I just love using the combat shotgun even though I know the gatekeeper is better.

For me, it's about which one is the higher rarity. I will say though I think gold and mythic Combat is extra good cuz it kills in 4 instead of 5 bodyshots. Up until then I prob prefer a Gatekeeper of the same color to it. But gold and mythic Combat are nasty.

Agreed. Combat just does not feel good to me when I have used it, even the mythic is only so so. I’ll tuna pump instead over it with and smg. But I prefer to have a gatekeeper over anything else. If I land at Classy I’ll run Oscar’s auto until I get at least a blue gatekeeper.

So bizarre, because I’ve always felt like controller aim assist was more apparent with the combat shotty. I feel like my reticle stays locked on moving opponents. I also just prefer having so many shots in the chamber with how bad 3rd partying is. I feel like between combat and burst, I can finish people fairly quickly. With that said, I’ll take a gold or purple gatekeeper over combat if I have a thunderburst

Gatekeeper just feels like a well designed shotgun. Good speed, DMG and it feels great. Combat feels wonky, hammer only use if I have no choice (great pump though) and the frenzy.... don't know bc my friend loves it so I always give it to him.

I’d say if you’re carrying only 1 weapon the combat is hands down better. Gate Keeper and an AR??? Gate Keeper wins. Being able to carry boogies, shield, meds, and fists can be useful so in that case the Combat

So Jake would you say the unlimited ammo medallion is pretty much required to win? Since you've said a couple times how griefing cars is important, but without unlimted ammo you have only so many crossbow shots and thats that, and youre using the crossbow all the time.

i honestly prefer the quick reload for gatekeeper compared to drum mag. it loads all the ammo at once unlike other shotguns like pump or combat which load 1 or 2 at a time, so if you need to reload with drum mag gatekeeper it takes noticeably longer than with quick reload and can get you killed but quick reload gets you your 3 shots right back which you shouldn't need more than 3 if you have cerberus gatekeeper
