lol, you are right Jake, i play on pc with 240 fps and sometimes i get shit on in ZB mode by controller players with better tactics and positions. I even get boxed by controller players in build mode. It's all mindset, timing, and tactics.

I play on PS5 and, in my opinion, using controllers isn’t an issue at all. The real problem (specifically concerning cross play with PC) is that performance mode on PC makes it comically easier to see players who would otherwise be obscured by shadows, or tall grass/foliage, or weather/atmospheric effects. Using 120hz mode on console helps somewhat, but typically results in frame rate drops to anywhere from 90 to 70 fps in combat, which obviously makes aiming/tracking significantly more difficult.

I use DualSense Edge with jump and reload mapped to the back paddles. I also use index fingers for R1/L1 back and middle fingers for triggers (R2/L2). Moved from only using index fingers about a month ago, it was hard to adjust, but I see improvement as I get used to it.

Quick weapon has been a game changer for me. Took time learning it at the end of Ch5 S1 and my pump/smg combo is so much smoother. I only really get to practice it in the pit though because of the current meta, but also for swapping to any slot in general it just feels a lot better. I only started playing Ch4 S3 though, so I didn’t have years worth of muscle memory with L1/R1 swapping.

the tactic i use is instead of using the a (x on playstation) button to jump i use LB (L1), since it was unused because i play with quick weapon instead of scrolling through the inventory.

I really hope you see this because I’ve always listened to your advice about key binds and I bound my jump button to my right analog stick so that I can jump and aim at the same time. Cause consoles these days have streaming capabilities on their own for the most part, a face cam is optional.

I play on PC & use the SCUF Vantage controllers. With 4 paddles & 2 Side action index bumpers, hair triggers with trigger stops, staggered stick layout. Since I’m on PC I can also bind my PlayStation Home button & the Share buttons as they are not in use for the Console actions they are normally used for. I play Build Mode so I do use Insta Edit & Scroll Wheel reset on 2 of my paddles

I realize we have the same sens but I have the hardest time hitting shotgun shots , I play console 60fps and everything gets so blurry once someone is spam jumping in a shotgun fight or if they use the flowberry movement

I think it's because of the glitch thing that lets you swing your pickaxe while in a vehicle to damage opponents. If you start swinging your pickaxe before entering the vehicle you can continue swinging in the vehicle.

you can pickaxe them through the car if you pickaxe as you enter keep the swing button held the entire time and then look at the person in the car you want to hit.

I’ve been an Xbox player since OG Xbox. I preferred the Xbox controller the last 20 years but now I use the ps5 controller . Mainly the switch was due to being to accustomed to the Xbox controller for way to long and just decided to switch it up. The PS5 controller feels great .

I am nowhere near a good player to say anything but the comparison between using your thumb and the whole arm is quite common these days, but when it comes to threading a needle, you don’t actually need your entire arm. Two fingers are sufficient for making precise adjustments. There are players who can play using controller turning off aim assist. Life was all fun until the devs decided to throw keyboard and mouse players into the same ring as controller players. And guess what? That day, the keyboard warriors got a reality check-the new kid was wiping the floor with them.

I am one of the despised view who is on PlayStation 4 using Gyro controls. Don’t blame me! My little nephew got water in my controller and thank God I can use all the buttons, but not that dang right joystick! There are paddles available on Amazon for PS4 and PS5 controller. They just require you to take your controller apart by following their instructions. I have them my PS4 and now PS5. It has 4 buttons on the back.

tbh the only time I lose is when I'm on foot and the other guy only seems to use Nitro Fists, or the other guy gets in super close with a shotgun and one hit kills me. I'm trying to work on getting around that but no luck so far, their sensitivity seems super high and it takes a while for me to move. However if I change my sensitivity any more it's going to be awkward af to shoot. Also I can confirm I dont get aim assist, I might get it once in a game and that's it

I've never noticed the aim assist on fortnite other than when I initially ADS with a sniper (2.1x thermal) but even then I make adjustments because I'm not sure whether it accounts for bullet drop (and obviously I'm going for headshots)... Does anyone know if aim assist takes bullet drop into account or if it just assumes hitscan?

I'm a controller player i don't use aim assist i don't like it. When i first started playing fortnite years ago i tried it and even tho I'm aiming at the other player shooting right at them my bullets didn't hit it's annoying since I'm used to not using aim assist it's so much better for me my shots actually hit at any range i play on 4 look sensitivity and 4 ADS sensitivity so I'm accurate been playing like that for so long it's just what I'm used to and what i prefer but in any shooting game i don't use aim assist

Even before there was crossplay lots of people were getting and using custom controllers in games like CoD or Fortnite also there are keyboards and mice that are made for gaming like having buttons on the side of the mouse for example so its not like pc doesnt have peripheral improvements that can be made as well.

@@EvolveJake I get ya. But with a standard controller you need one really where you don’t need to release the stick. In comparison, no upgrade on pc doesn’t have that inherent disadvantage. In order to even the playing field the controller person needs to upgrade. Not that a deeply experienced gamer needs to though. It’s more of a disadvantage for newbies.

You actually don’t. If you get a standard controller and remap two buttons you’ll be good. Having to find your proper sens is something that everyone has to do regardless of console and every gamer who cares will eventually upgrade regardless of PC or console. In fact to prove Jake’s point PC’s that are good for gaming are exponentially more expensive than just getting a controller with extra paddles (which you don’t necessarily need to do it just makes things a bit easier)

The problem for me is not that the pc players are dominating me its just that everytime a pc players gets near me I get a huge lagg spike the game really just lags like insane amounts and I just cant move until Im dead.
