How planets formed: Gas Giants: Clumps of rocks started to make a super earth. This super earth will eventually became the core of a gas giant. As the gravity of the super earth pulls more matter, instead of being clumped into rocks, but it just stays gaseous mode. Meaning that gas giants have low density. Even if there we're massive. This high mass and low density make them really big. Rocky Planet: clumps of rocks started to form into an earth sized planets or smaller. They all began as lava planets that rapidly cool and solidify. Maybe some will have life on it. Also, these are the 6 exoplanet size types. Mercurian - Mercury size Subterran - Mars size Terran - Earth size SuperTerran - Super Earth size Neptunian - Neptune size Jovian - Jupiter size
