I once made a snake from flexibles with seekers at both ends and jets at the front, with spikes at the sides, that thing was the bane of all the tiny fast critters, it could outspeed them and wrap around and grind them to dust.

27:00 growth gate cells are actually really useful in a couple ways, my favorite being combining them with feeller cells to trap enemies and then by using the life steal spikes, which are non leatal, you get a cheap way to get loads of extra regen

You can also go through there in the dark with some basic builds, i can consistently do it by having a bunch of hearts, spikes alternating along the front and sides, a few seeker cells at the front for better steering, and a simple 2 jet self propulsion system at the back, then by just wiggling every time you encounter a wall, being in a mildly zoomed out map, and a bit of patience, you can easily get through the dark area. This build is also super effective at taking iut the first boss super quickly, i have been able to kill it by level 6 before

One thing you should try is having a spiked tail a little over twice the length of your build with seekers (and maybe jets) in it, so you can stun with the front end then munch up your foes with the tail. I did this with an electrical build and it worked pretty nicely.

Been trying this on my own and this doesnt seem entirely true? It seems like cells still get zapped when grounded unless there's enough distance between the cells. I've been trying to look up explanations on how the grounding exactly works but the game is too new and it sends me back to this video. Even in a build where every single cell (besides the zappy cells of course) is grounded. You can shock yourself and take damage. I hope the game gets it's own in game manual that can help break down what's going on.

I got ghost cells in the first level up, then phased into the middle of one of the ring bosses and jumped straight to level 15. It was pretty great... until it died to a projectile while I was phased out in another enemy. Could post it, but it pretty much goes exactly as described. I tried an asymetrical sea horse build using muscles and the pointer cells to either wrap around targets or tail whip them. It kind of sucked at killing though I did bring it to like level 12 or something like that. Gotta try to figure out how to do that better.

I made a creature in sandbox that basically killed anything on and off screen including ultra zoom out using electricity with chain lightning and the mutation that allowed disconnected parts to regenerate for a few moments this allowed the creature to break off bits I made specifically to do that made out of electric bits meaning once the lightning hit they reactivated and started putting out more than just chain lightning I call this design the electric core it used phase bits to negate damage it couldn’t be turned off once turned on unless you turned off chain lightning it also couldn’t move funny thing I found bits of it in other biomes after moving.
