Here's a couple of highlights from the video. In addition to winning the gold medal for the fourth consecutive year in the marching contest, the band also made it past the first round of the sitdown contest for the first time in 16 years and won a silver medal. The sitdown contest limits the number of participants in each band to 55 members and the president was expressing her struggles, frustrations and regrets on not making the team as a sax player after multiple in-house auditions. She kept pondering how to handle this awkward situation since she was the president but finally decided to just ignore her failures and cheer everyone on and be the best president as she could. The DM then commented that without the president's constant encouragements, the band would not have made it past the first round and got the silver. At 12:05 of the video, coach Shima got a copy of the judges scorecard and announced to the band that they got all A's which is a perfect score that no prior Tachibana team had ever accomplished. 🥰🍊
Thank you for this video. It's always interesting going behind the scenes to see how hard the Kyoto Tachibana musicians work. It's not always an easy task for these young people. They have progress throughout the year and now it's off to the Rose Parade 2025. Bravo! 👏👏🎵🎵🎼🎉😎 Shima-san always helping out. 😁
I'm so happy to hear that Kyoto Tachibana got all As on their national marching contest score Their hard work and perseverance have paid off 🥰 Goodluck with Rose Parade!!

What did coach Shima announced to the band at 12:05 that got them all excited? At that time they already knew they got the gold medal. Is it the perfect score from the judges that they also got last year? I'm so proud of these teenagers. They worked so hard and so dedicated. I will be seeing them in person at the Rose Parade. 🥰🍊🥰🍊🥰🍊🥰🍊

I got the answer. Coach Shima got a copy of the scores by the judges and the band got a perfect score of all "A's". Simply Perfection! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
They didn't get a perfect score last year. In the video Coach Shima says that this is the first time since Kyoto Tachibana started going to the Nationals that they had All-A's.

@@martinclark7935 Still love all the classes whether they had won gold or not. Not getting all A's or even making it to all-Japan the finals would not diminished all the hard work and dedications the band members had put in.

@@LL-ip8xh I didn't suggest that it would diminish their hard work and dedication. I was simply pointing out that this was the first time they had scored the perfect all As.

A great debt of gratitude is owed to Hiramatsu-sensei The greatest leader that Tashibana ever had. He changed the marching bands of Japan forever. It will be a privilege at the Rose Parade to carry the Japanese flag. The Pride of the Japanese people. In honour of Hiramatsu

THE. BEST! Amazing video about this year, and even with pretty weird engrish subs it was pure fun and joy to watch it! ^___^ Congratz to the 121th year, that was not an easy to do, but they actually exceeded 120th class and set a new record of 4 consecutive wins! Damn, I wonder if 122th will be able to reach as high and continue this dream-come-true, but I guess it's when the confidence from previous wins has to be an advantage in future contests. Those interviews with Kamata-san, Kumagai-san and Kaneshiro-san were exceptionally interesting, you can learn a whole lot about their behind-the-scenes and members themselves, the more of those - the more recognition Kyoto Tachibana SHS will gain and the more fun and joy we will get. -especially since those 2 young ladies are not just very talented and responsible members, but also very attractive ones ^_^- Rose Parade 2025 begins in 4 days, hope to see more of them, and previous years students as well. That will be a blast without any doubt! o/ I'm sure Orange Devils will end this year and start a new one on unbelievably high note!!! ^_____^ Greetings and best wishes from Ukraine! o/
This is an excellent video,i just wish i knew what they were saying i think it has something to do with them winning the gold

Click 'CC' to turn on subtitles. Then click the 'settings' cog to choose auto-translate to English. It's not perfect but it will give you a good idea of what is going on.
