no, eating lava makes more sense, it cools down pretty quick. It's liquid but it still has over 3 times the density of water and has a high viscosity. If you're fast enough (because heat is still a thing) you can run on lava for a short period of time before your shoes melt away but only on a lava flow, don't do that on a lava lake, they are far hotter.

You do not have to travel that far as the baby pterodactyl you could just go to the black hole above the ice castle which will teleport you to the other side of the map.
