Further Notes: 1) In the comparison, the colors should actually be reversed. Bigger upkeep is definitely not better! TY @McLovin for spotting that. 2) The layer priority might very well function top-down where the higher tiers face off and they work themselves downward. You would not notice a difference in this unless a player is missing certain tiers. It's a very, very good observation and I feel it is a stronger theory than the one in the video. Amazing info .. I wanaa ask something. You say the each tier attacked the same tier.. Let say the attacker send some layers but the defender have lot of each tier to defend. So what happened then if the troops are all killed by defenders. Because defender are more than a attackers.

I honestly think you’re over thinking it. If there are 1 mil troops each attached and defending, then the guy that has all t13 will decimate the guy with some t13 some 12,10,etc. He simply has more attack, range, and defense, and HP. I believe the term layering refers to range mounted and siege not their level. Siege hit first with greatest range then range, mounted, then ground. Having a mixture means that someone with range won’t decimate your mounted and ground before arriving. Now there is something to be said for resources going to upkeep, but finding that food isn’t as much an issue as ore, lumber, and stone.

Let's say I want to build an archer march which will be lead by an archer general and I will select the archer Monarch gear. In this archer march, I should include at least some of all troop types (ground, cav, siege) of every tier so that I maximize the number of attacks I have in each round. Is this correct? If I had only archers of every tier in my march, I would get significantly fewer attacks per round, yes?

Thanks for the video, really useful information.There is ton a questions as the game advances. I will ask just couple of those. It looks like most of the people like ranged troops for pvp. So i heard that ghosting your mounted troops is a good idea vs player who will send a ranged march to your city. How does it help winning the defense? And the next question: Lets say I want to win an attack vs 1mln t13 archers, 1mln mounted, 500k ground and 500k siege machines respectively. I am talking just about the top tiers, which are nicely layered all the way down. How would you attack this formation. And something I don't really understand is when you are saying each tier attacks his corresponding tier first... Lets say you have t1 siege at one side and t1 siege at the others side... due to the speed and the lower range, they may never actually attacking each other, they will start shooting at the first thing that comes into range, or I am missing something? Brilliant series! Thank you! I'm low level still and can't do much PvP yet - also lots of politics - I'd get a lot of heat if I were to hit a player in another alliance. Got a question on hitting normal monsters - should I be worried about getting my soldiers wounded? Should the goal be to have zero wounded? If I get wounded soldiers, the "Lost Power" number goes up.

Definitely don’t want wounded troops. That’s the main focus of PvE in the game is to kill bosses without wounded troops

Say a k27 attacks a k30, t11s will target enermy t11s first, not t12s? What I see is that higher tier troops are targeted first and usually more wounded. Another example, if you attack a green sub, your higher tier troops get decimated, instead of lower tiers. That's what I experienced.

That's entirely possible. It very well could work top-down. That actually would make a lot of sense. You wouldn't notice the difference unless there were fewer layers, though. However, that would also account for the t1 siege bomb working. Thanks!

archers attach cav, then archers, only then ground while ground attack graund 1st, while big threaten for them is cav, only then they attack cav, and then archers while they are best against archers priority to attack is only 3 and cav attack ground 1st, only then cav

It is how the battle system works, but a more simplistic view of it. If you want to know more specifics on a step by step and layer by layer manner, I'd recommend also subbing to DerrickDefies. He puts out great content!

If my T12 attack the enemy T12 and kill them all, what is the next tier my T12s will target? The enemy T13? The enemy T11? The enemy T1? The behavior is the same for all troop tiers?

Thanks for the video. Question about layers and when is a good time to build them. I’m keep 29 with t11 troops. Is it best to focus on getting my keep level higher and higher tiered troops before focusing on layering troops. In other words I know layering is important but is it more important to get t12, t13 etc, troops first?

If you aren't building troops right now, you can wait. If you actually have troops, layers are very important. You don't have to train big layers for now, but they need to exist.

He likely has higher power than the other generals. If you want him to not appear first, put better gear on other generals until their power overtakes his.

I've given up on finding any semblance of comprehensive beginner instructions for people who have just downloaded the game and have no idea how to play or what they're supposed to be doing. There's tons of videos about the game, and even some creators that have spammed literally hundreds of videos on their cnannel. But every one of them seem to assume that the viewer already understands the game..
