I encountered some strangeness in my march presets while recording this video series. For some reason, my march size in the rally spot was treated like I had a march size increase when nothing was active. I've never seen that before, so I was a bit confused. Please ignore my rambling.

Nothing changed you just set march set up while your buff was activated. If you do what you did in this video it will be ok

I destroyed Keep 22 which is 5M greater than my power, I'm just Keep16 and it really worked that Archers is best. I use Alfred as my General. Double thumbs up for this youtuber.

Can you expand upon this series using the Hun Invasion? Perhaps play a game as usual and record it. After that go back and voice over the video. Explain how you choose your march set up based on their troops and such. For me I've learned a decent amount during the Hun event. I've dropped my wounded greatly from when I first tried it. I believe this would be an increable video to make. Thank you for all the highly valuable information you put out. I've learned so much. Wish I cpuld go back in time though. I'd watch all your videos before starting to play and be so much better off. Was told about you a few months in and that was far too late for so much unfortunately. Keep up the great work, Miser. What you do is certainly appreciated

Thank you for this video. But still don't understand the details of the battle. Let's say I have a fully layered archer-only march facing an identical opponent - will my T11 archers attack the opponent's T11s and so on for every tier? What if it's a mixed march - my archers are in range of the opponent's cavalry - what tier of the opponent's cavalry do my T11 archers hit first?

When in range, they will target from the top down. So if your t11 come across an opponent with t15, they will target those first. However, because higher tier units have better range, the opponents t12-15 would kill your t11 (and all the rest) before they even had a chance to do some damage.

Then you factor in the different troop types, speeds, etc. So cavalry will come into range first and the archer will target those top down as soon as they do. Once done with the cavalry they'll move on to the next troop type that is in range which could be a few troop types at that point. They might target the ground and archers for example.

@@The_Miser Great, thank you! I think you thought I was talking about siege though - all archer tiers have the same range of 500. Anyway, I get you. Thanks for clearing that up. Targeting from the top down is special to T11 and T12, yes? My T1s would target the enemy T1s and not the T15s, yes?

The t1s should target the t15s if they are in range of being attacked. Top-down.

Hey Miser, great work with this channel, I really enjoy watching your videos and I grow my keep based on your recommendations. However, I have a couple of questions. I'm a k24 T9 ( soon to be k25, T10 ) player and I see a lot of videos with archer troops march preset, ground troops...and I believe that strategy is applied only on k30-32 and above players ( T12 + ). Would you use that strategy even if you were k25 with T10's, T9'...or is that purely because of cost-effective reasons ( like you said T12 is cheaper to heal and produce than T14 ). Minamoto is great for ranged PvP, but would you use him if you were k25 and your march is combined with all the troops? I see a lot of smaller players using him after December or January, but I'm not sure he's the right guy for us right now. Would you say that for me is better Gwangaeto (range/siege) rather than him? What were your preferred combinations of troops when you were this size? My main wall general is Johnston and I planned to have a siege attack/siege range/ ranged range skill books ( I've read somewhere that range is better than attack ), but somewhere in the process I got stuck with siege attack/siege range/siege hp, and I'm thinking of leaving like that actually. What do you think? A couple of days ago k34 player annihilated our alliance leader ( k31 ) with siege....Johnston + good buffs for the siege and out of 1,5M dead, I believe 850k were killed just with siege. Do you believe in the strong siege defense or would you add a ranged skill book on him just in case? Keep up the good work and sorry for the long post. Stay safe

Definitely should start using layering as early as possible. The layering didn't start until k30 was released but the benefits can be notice at every tier. The cost effect is only part of the reason for layering.

@@kxwhyknot8314 Off course, I understand that. I have 1000 troops of every lower-tier, just want to know more about his take on troop formation for k25 player as I am and some advice regarding skill books. But thank you for your reply.

Layering is important at any level. You are at a disadvantage without it. Doesn't mean you will lose. Doesn't mean you will win. But it will make your army function more successfully in almost all cases. I would use minamoto at k25 still, yes. I'd try to focus as much on a single troop type as possible and improve my buffs on that troop type to the max. The rest of the troops are filler until you can field a full march. I wouldn't go gwangaeto over minamoto, but that's just me. It's not bad, just different. Depending on the player you'll hear different opinions. Mine would be to go moto and focus on improving the range troops. JEJ for wall is a great choice. For wall generals, variety is fine. I have the same general and exactly those books (the planned ones), though if I did it again I would probably swap the siege attack out for ground hp or defense. Siege base stats are pretty low so the hp and attack % bonus you get isn't going to be as deadly to your enemies as big buffs on ground or ranged troops. Again, just opinions. Do what works best for you! It also depends a lot on your troop composition and level of buffs.

Great video. Thank you. I ran into an attack that had exactly that. Lots of range and lots of ground. I got confused and didnt know what to send so I just sent my usual preset ranged attack. I did win but sustained lots of damage. What do you suggest a good attack for that would be? A ton of seige? I dont know.

I’m sorry I’m going to ask a stupid question but … I don’t know how to make sure that I’m sending one troop to rallies, I have T5 troops max atm. I kept getting the number wrong so I’ve not joined rallies for a while now, so I’m not levelling up as much as I could.

I like to make a preset with only 1 troop so you'll just click the preset button when joining rallies.

Im talking about kinda mixed preset... Isn't better to reduce amount of mounted an put more ground? Cuz after a while our mounted will be wiped out and enemies ground and mounted will reach to our archers but if we put more ground there, this fight between mounted and ground will extend and our archers have more time to kill enemies mounted... What do you think? I noticed you have archer an mounted in your preset and your ground and sieges are only layers even for higher tiers...

Mixed presets are not a great idea because you have much less of a benefit from targeted buffing of gear. At lower levels, you won't notice much of a difference because the % isn't so massive. At higher levels, this becomes more problematic. You get much more benefit from focusing on a pure troop type march.

opposite. for monsters layer hurts badly..

Layers work differently for monsters. Each layer attacks at the time. If you send low troops and high level troops together, the high level troops will start attacking once the little ones have already been smashed by the monster. The same for Rallies in the alliance. Not all troops attack at the same time, each player has its own turn, followed by the turn of the monster, until it dies.

Use a truce agreement and keep it active at all times. No one will be able to attack you.
