Evony - Weekly Events Series: World Boss like a Boss

In the Weekly Events Series, I examine the events that you encounter every week such as Vikings, World Bosses, and the Undead Invasion. In this video:
* Gearing up for the world boss

NOTE: One addition that I forgot:
You can also select appropriate monarch talents such as increased attack/hp for subordinate cities to get a good boost on that first attack. I had a different talent spec at the time of this recording. :(

Re: troop type and march composition, my findings corroborate what you said about using the highest level complete march. When I'm attacking as an individual that's pretty cut and dry. But when my alliance attacks together for that maximum alliance score, the most powerful complete march each member contributes will vary from one participant to the next. THAT is when we have a tough time figuring out what's best. But when I send a "1y1" march (one general, one troop) to a more powerful rally leader the email results I get back tell me I contibuted one point and that's it. So it seems each player in a world boss monster rally sends whatever his highest level full march is. It does not seem to work this way with typical boss monsters. The power of each contributor's general is the big deal with those.

An analysis of research trees would be a great topic of a video! Obtaining monarch and general gear are also great topics. Thank you for the suggestions. In short to answer your questions: 1) Monarch gear: Best way (but time-consuming) is to patrol A LOT. Refresh patrol with gold again and again. After many tries, you start getting lvl 3 monarch gear fairly consistently. If you patrol this way often, you will increase your monarch gear quite rapidly. 2) Equipment for generals: Vikings, vikings, vikings, bosses, and monsters. Did I mention vikings? 3) Construction and research speed: Yes and no. At very low keep levels, the impact isn't huge. However, it is still worthwhile. I'd focus on resource production and gathering tech first, though. At mid-range (20-30) and upper-range (30-35) keep levels, the impact is much greater since your builds and research became ridiculously long! Definitely get these.

This depends on general and gear, but if your troops are t11 you should be capable or close to killing a B10 with a full march of cavalry. Don't mix tiers and send only cavalry. The best way to get stronger at killing bosses is to gear your boss general similar to how I set up for the world boss. Higher tier cav will definitely help when you get them.

You only get 5 tries and then you must purchase more. You either did the 5 already solo or as rallies.

1:50 Man, actually that means the debuff only applies to Mounted Troop, that's why you can see everybody is attacking with either ground troops or ranged troops, hahaha. Great video though.

In short (since I won't be able to get to videos again for another couple weeks), troop comp for pvp is very different from pve. If you want to maximize your damage in defense, hide your cavalry as they run out onto the field of battle only to get slaughtered by archers. The rest of it comes down to greater specifics that I'll have to do in the detailed video but the highlights are: 1) your % stats for your troops vs theirs 2) your debuff % vs theirs 3) types of troops sent 4) tiers of troops sent. These are all huge factors in success in PVP whereas power is really not a good reference. For example, I've seen people 500 mil - 1.5 bil power getting zeroed in one hit by a single attack.

What does the power bar on world boss represent what I’m asking is if it goes to 0% what happens

Every 20% the boss will give gems to the player that brought it to that %. Chests and goodies will also pop around the boss. When the boss reaches 0, it dies. It disappears from the map and can no longer be attacked by players. It will respawn the next day unless the event is finished. I've waited a few times until the last day for world boss and missed out on getting rewards because it died early.

Stratergies for alliance rally on world boss cuz in alliance rally tgere are mixed troops?

As long as no one is doing archer or siege mixed with the others, it should be fine. Players should send only a single tier as well. Preferably, everyone would send the same type so they attack the boss at the same time.

Mounted all the way! All the same tier. No mixing. For example, 1000000 T13 is better than 500000 T13 + 500000 T14.

@@The_Miser I tried both a rally with only one tier mounted and one where I added a few higher lvl mounted as well. Got higher scores with mixed tiers. Has the game changed since this video or did I just add too much higher tier troops. For us who can not fill a rally yet it would be helpful to know.

Nothing has changed. You are likely in the awkward phase where your lower tier is a bigger march and your higher tier isn't quite overtaking it yet. You can mix the tiers for now until your higher tier takes over but also be prepared for higher wounded.

Hi, one of my team members keeps saying that we shouldn't attack the world boss before we do an alliance war on it otherwise it will effect the points. So basically the first hit will give you the highest score. It doesn't sound logical and based on nothing. Does she have a point? Thank you

As you guessed, that's not correct at all. If you want to increase alliance points, you could coordinate when the alliance rally happens. This way you can use a march increase for both alliance and solo.

You get small amounts by other means, but really events are the main source. Try to send flowers at the arch near the throne daily for some chance at stamina. Hit those crazy eggs. Participate in the events. I'll think on this further to see if I can come up with a few more ways. I have an excess of stamina, so I haven't had to deal with that issue yet.

Not specifically, but the basic concept of defeating a higher level boss is the same as the world boss. Focus on cavalry attack, hp, and march size. Use all of a single unit type. You'll be ready for a boss 13 (solo) when you are achieving 0 wounded on a boss 12. If in a rally, you'll want at least one person who has sub 10k wounded on boss 12 and then support.

I had a question i wanted to ask you i am about to do PVP how many as percent of total march size i should be sending : for example 30% ground 40%archers 20% mounted 10% siege just wanna do pvp as most effective way might need deeper explaination if possible (new to the game but growing quickly so need to keep my knowledge as high)

​@@AmrAhmed-bg9qs It's quite a bit complicated, but essentially you want to counter the opponents troops. It also depends on attack vs defense, and you need to use layers to soften the damage you take. For example, if the enemy has archers, you would send mostly ground troops (the counter to archers) and also counter-counter troops (by this I mean that your ground is countered by cavalry troops, so you sent some archers as well to counter the counter). At t14, a quick close-to-ideal march look like: Ground troops 30k t14, 400k t13, 500k t12, and then maybe 30k t11, 30k t11, and then 10k of ground troops from t10 to t1. You'd also send archer layers such as 20k of the higher tiers and then maybe 10k of the lower tiers. This is just a really quick and blunt explanation, but I'll get into it in better detail in a future video.
