I have a few tips/facts for new or even older deino players. fact1: if your still under water and hold q your water sense range is increased. ( be warned it takes more o2 and other deinos can hear the rumble ) Fact 2: if your in need of some quick o2 on land if you hold q aka sniff your o2 increases faster

tips for playing deino: 1st: the corners of the map far away from others are your best friend while youre still growing. 2nd: expect every other deino to be a cannibal that needs to be avoided at all cost. 3rd: if you come across another deino either attack first or flee towards land. 4th: between two fully grown deinos the one who gets the first hit in usualy wins. if that one isnt you then run.

For people who have not yet played Deinosuchus: When you are growing, you have 3 life stages that do affect how you play and move around: 1. Juvie, you are fresh spawn and weak. Find Elite Fish and corpses to feed yourself. You can't really kill anything else but very few young creatures that come at you. Stay in water for safety. To hide from other Deinos use underwater foliage, shadows, deep spots even or run to dry land if you detect Adult from good distance away, this might not save you from Sub-Adults. 2. Sub-Adult, you have mass and speed. You can prey on Omnis, Pachies and others below their weight easy (when you are 1900 kg or more). Elite Fish still feed you well and thanks to your speed on land you can brave some corpses. Escaping from Adult deinos is all about being faster than them, on water and on land. This is part where Beibi can't really fill you up on hunger or diet. 3.Adult, you have mass and bite. You have become slow, but you have strong bite and high mass. You prey on all creatures (4000 kg or more, but you never grab full grown Stego). Your main prey are going to be Carnos, Ceratos, Tenos, Stegos and other Deinos. Other creatures can't fill you that well but can keep you somewhat satiated. When facing other Adult Deinos your options are pretty much to fight or to create distance with Stamina Regeneration perks. Aside other Adult Deinos your biggest threat is Adult Stego, especially on land!

don't forget deinos can drown Gallis, Omnis, Ceratos, Pachys, etc easily before even hitting Sub Adult stage :)

as full grown deino. 90% of the time. the adult that attacks first, wins. Keep that in mind. Also playing duo pretty much eliminates all threads from any source besides other duo deinos. And because no Deino trusts any other deino there are few duos usully

Everything sounds good besides the 1900kg thing. You have to be 900kg for an adult raptor, 1000kg for a pachy and you can pretty much take care of all the smaller dinos within the first few minutes of growth (troodon, gali, beipi). If anyone wants to know the rest: 2600kg for cera, 3200kg for teno and 3600kg for carno.

Very nice video, concise and to the point and filled with useful information. I hope lots of new players find your videos! If I may, I'd like to add some to it. Not being able to do anything when grabbed is not quite accurate. You can hold E to struggle and drain the deino's stamina faster, like when raptors pounce. This very well can save you as most deino's won't have a full stamina bar when they lunge at you. Though a good deino player will likely know how to play around this, it has saved me a surprising number of times. And on the mechanics of lunging; When they are under half your weight you can GRAB and CARRY them underwater, and it is based on the current weight of both you and your prey at the moment. If they weigh more than half your weight, you will STUN THEM while locking yourself in a short ripping animation. This attack causes dmg and bleed. Though the stun is not useful for yourself as the stun duration is about the same as the attack animation, it can allow another deino to get free hits in. It's quite useful when fighting stegos.

First of all, thank you for the nice comment! You actually CANNOT hold E to drain the deinos stamina, it doesn't work at all. About the lunge, yes, you can hold anything half your weight. Anything more than it will stun the prey and if the difference is too big, YOU will get stunned instead

I have a question. I had a deinosuchus at level 100 and the stegosaurs killed me in one hit, why? Is there a way to grab and bite to death? It has 500 damage, I don't understand why they escape

a full grown deino can only grab things HALF their weight, which means anything above 4.1tons is immune to your lunge. About the one hit thing, that's really odd, a full deino can't die in one hit to absolutely anything unless it was hurt before

unfortunately a year later deinos end game is dying to a 2v1 against crocs or being killed by another croc while weak from fighting stegos. it blows my mind that they'd rather be braindead and kill each other than learn to fight stegos

I just got back to the Isle and I am was trying Deinosuchus. Everything did go well and no thirst or hunger! and so. but out of nowhere it I got sick or something. Now i dont know what to do it is very bad so I logout for now.

That's strange, it's impossible for Deinosuchus to be sick. He can eat literally anything of the game, any dino, any AI, even same species 🤔

For deino u get protection by 2 full grown deinos, which is prettymuch godmode unless they dont protect u. Also u inherit the mothers diet on spawn (i think). U done need to hunt. starting as hatchling might be faster overall if u can get 50% gr increase diet early on and keep it active.

One thing I wish that was in this video is where on earth you find bullfrogs ?! I thought they would be around the swamp area but haven’t found any. The symbols you get from feeding in the right corner, the bullfrog gives you the S symbol, you get the 2 lines from a large fish and you already start with the 3 hexagons. Getting these at the start would give you a 50% growth bonus I believe. Has anyone found them ? I know you can get the S symbol from eating other deino’s but I don’t want to target other players who are smaller haha

Why even play any other dino on evrima? These things seem stupidly OP. My full health Ceratosaurus was hit while dinking and drug down to the bottom to die. I pressed E as soon as it happened, I had no hope in hell. So lame. Now I am only going to play a Deinosuchus. If you cant fight them at all you might as well just be one then.

Unfortunaly pressing E does absolutely nothing agaisnt deino! If you know the map well you can easily avoid them by going to shallow or remote areas
