EVS has done a good job of addressing the real problem of popular KZbinrs putting out lackluster comic books, but it's a really welcome change that he is now also shining a spotlight on an example of a good comic from an indie creator. Good examples are going make his point a whole lot stronger, and it's a great way to balance out the conversation and bring some positivity into the mix.

​@@ComicArtistProSecretsOh I know. I appreciate your focus on the craft, but you have to admit this situation clearly shows it's about more than just the product sometimes. It's peoples lives that are at stake. Including lives of little people like in this video... Maybe there should be more room in CG for artists who are just getting to the level you expect of cg kings. I can't help but wonder: what if the book was bad and your review scathing? What effect would that have had on their lives? What if you ignored the book because of the previous output of the author or the style you don't care for? This makes me think that maybe some more moderate voices are required. Voices that will objectively judge the output, but give the author the help they need if one can see that some support might make them a powerhouse in a few campaigns. I don't mean you or other cg kings need to be those people specifically. Strong voices are needed as well, but some counterweight to them might do everyone some good. It would be a shame if promising artists were flushed down the drain because of a few bad comics. It seems like in CG, and the indie scene in general, is very sink or swim. Either you figure it out at the deep end or you will get fucked by life stuff. I can see how it can be fucking daunting to process all of this campaign/production shit and work on your craft at the same time. I'm rambling a bit, but I hope you see what I mean. Maybe do a half snark power reviews of young artists sometimes? Give a smaller campaign a push during Trashcast unprompted? I would love to see more scenes like we've seen in this video and I think you and other cg kings have all the power to make that happen. This hobby is filled with an insane ammountn of negativity and maybe it's time to balance that a bit. Not only make CG a sales powerhouse, but also a force for growing comics in general. Rant over. Love the show.
