I'm watching this episode right now yeah covid was a bummer it really it took me out of business that's interesting though is I wouldn't be watching your videos had it not😅 audio visual stuff is great there's a lot gold-plated stuff in there yeah that analog stuff you're taking apart and it's up in this episode isn't a lot of that stuff is obsolete now because everything's gone to digital what does lots of gold plated stuff in the ones I have have not processed yet the city that you're taking apart actually work together the one is the main head unit the other ones the splitter these women restaurants and venues to control several displays at the same time

Hi Ben, we've missed you! At about 17:00 that pinned bit that seems to do nothing is a SCSI bus terminator, necessary to end the bus or the slot can daisy chain into another 👍

Awesome, for you to take the time to scrap all the way until you have everything as clean metal would take a lot of time. I can't help to say that on the last item that you scrapped, you left the gold connection in the box. I don't know how much was there, but I can't leave any when I am breaking down component units. Stay safe and see you on the next video.

Great video as usual. And as usual wish I could get hold of all your dirty aluminium for some serious microscrapping.

I'm going to punt at the hdd enclosure being a SCSI unit, hence the 2 plug in mini-boards. One of them would have been a terminator to indicate the end of the line for data.

Find a refinery that will do the gold recovery for you. And they will be able to do more PM recovery. They would just keep a small portion of the proceeds for their work.

Hi, I'm a computer technician from México. I've keep for a few years 80+ motherboard, 80+ DIMM's, 80+ SODIMM's, 100+ processors, a big box of optical and floppy drive controller boards, a nice bunch of lcd driver and pci boards, about 2Kg of gold plated pins and connectors... It's worth the effort trying to process all of this? First time trying, none of this materials have had any costs, all are replaced ruined parts.

Hi Ben , it's called GREED. There is absolutely no reason for food to be so high or gas for that matter. The Government wants it all and makes everyone pay these outrageous prices, plain and simple! I enjoy all your videos Ben. When will you go street scrapping again ? What you say is boring to you is very exciting to me. I love it all ! Watching you take things apart, picking up e waste from your clients, street scrapping and cutting wires. I wish the USA had certain times in the year where they could sat out their garbage and people could go around and pick up what they want but that's not the way it is here. Thanks Ben!

I'm also from the USA, MA and I wish we had the same for trash pickups, so much wasted resources that could be ♻️. I drive around at lunch looking for anything with my co worker haha, we usually just drive around to get out of the building but have found some decent items.

Same. With the cost of gas though, I mainly get scrap on my way to or from work, always scanning for open tops or checking a few reliable dumpsters. I get some eWaste from an IT guy and another electronic repair guy a few times a year though to keep me busy as a hobby.

The little red switch on that board has little gold plated balls.

Nothing again at 1:02:37? That entire lid is pm plated bro. That thin foil that comes loose as you rip the lid is most likely silver. Probably that entire housing is silver plated on the inside.

@dr.a00610 ай бұрын
To not have to pay “rubbish tax” on irony aluminum vs scrap steel makes sense and not waste time on cleaning pieces 100%. Getting those nice gold pins is worth it though.

You don't need clean gold pins for gold recovery. Place them with the plastic casings in nitric and the acid will do the trick to recover the foils. Then aqua regis to refine them. Keep them all buddy. You're throwing away gold and it hurts every time I see it 😃

Yeah, the anti-C measures were absolutely garbage. Also, because of them the prices of real estate went absolutely insane and if you haven't owned a property before, you will never be able to afford to buy house now.

I watched a lot of your videos and you are missing alot of pm's just because you don't identy them properly. A lot of these alu plates and housings are plated on the inside or entirely plated with silver for RF shielding.

Well done to the guy who contributes to the amount of crap that ends up in the landfill pile just because he is obviously hard up for cash that he needs to scavenge a couple of pennies worth of wire from electricall appliances, don't you ever think other people could use them things you ruin for a poxy bit of wire, obviously don't cross your mind, I work in a tip in England and when electricall appliances come in if they look in good shape we put them aside and they are collected in bulk and checked and tested and reused along with cycles, but when they've been ruined for a poxy bit of wire we just throw them in the junk pile, we'll done you, Mr environmentally friendly
@joesmith-es1zy9 ай бұрын
It's probably the same where he is as in America which is where I'm from, appliances go to the dump and are buried not salvaged.
