Sanding is the important point before coloring 💯

Looking really nice with the clear on the guitar. Some pretty rich tans in the cherry and the light and dark swirls contrast it nicely. The clear just pops them out.

Looks marvelous as always Dave. It's important for folks that don't know about Asselex to note; blue paper has the cutting of 360 but leaves 600 scratch pattern. It was game changer for me. Wonderful product, don't let the cost scare you.

I love this guitar Dave! Much better looking than an original one. And I love the trussrod cover, looks much better!

I can't get over how cool that fretboard looks with the blonde wood on the low E side, and inlays that bring it out. I have some African Blackwood with a blonde stripe down one side for my next fretboard, originally I was going to cut that away, but I think I'll include it now.

Just got in my new shapeoko 5 pro this week. I just sold my older shapeoko 3 xxl so not a complete CNC newbie. I just picked up a piece of 21x40 8/4 African mahogany and I have a piece of 8/4 quilted maple and am thinking of getting a couple of book matched pieces of the maple for the top and using the mahogany for the body. I am going to create a drawing of a more modern telecaster with HH and a more comfortable carve rather than a “cutting board with a neck”. FYI I am just across the bay from you. Edited because I am going to just create my own plans lol

Hmmm, I’ve never done a lefty but I’m thinking just mirror the plans in your design software and write the tool paths accordingly. I’m out in west mobile for now but will be moving my shop in the next couple of months. What town are you in?

The reason why lacker builds up around those holes is surface tension. No cure for that.

I love your build series by the way. It's been really great. The only criticism I have is I would like for you to boost your audio when you are talking. It's very hard to hear you.

David, do you give the guitar another wipe down with Naptha after sanding between sealer coats?
@eworcustomguitars Жыл бұрын
Only if I feel like I got oils from my hands on the sealer. Just before I spray I gently wipe down with a tack cloth

I need to try that super assilex

Watching other people sanding isnt that bad ... compared to being the one sanding anyway 🤣
