Well done to all who raced and to Pink Bike for bringing this to us. As for Maes - how did he test positive for a banned substance 2 weeks after supposedly taking it to help his antibiotics or is there more to his story which frankly doesn't add up. The substance in question should heave not shown in his system if only a once off use in that time period supposedly. Keep it clean and honest.

Read the article on pinkbike, you can see the big and deep wound that he had on his shin which was infected and could have cost him a leg or in the absolute worst case his life . He was supposed to be taking the stuff, which can be used to be a masking agent, with his antibiotics. So, first of all, you take your antibiotics for a certain time, and even if he didn't take it during the race or previously, you still have some in your blood. For me it's a shame that he lost points and was banned for that, but you have to say its still kinda his fault to not check it

Yeah but if they ride 27.5 no difference bro no matter what wheel size it all depends on the rider but still choosing an all around wheel size 650b is the answer you want more speed on dh 29er is the answer

Yes, 29s have an advantage in outright speed. Some of the smaller women racers are still on 27.5 due to frame size issues however.

Just read about the circumstances behind Martin Maes UCI suspension. What an utter load of NO common sense BS. All evidence pointed to potential infection due to a significant wound. Everything administered under the care of an experienced VOLUNTEER physician. - the substance had NO performance enhancing effect. And then stripping a strong dedicated athlete of his well earned wins? I shudder at the logic the UCI applied to this case.

Good Job Richie! I do feel bad for Maes and felt he got unjustly whacked! I am pretty sure everyone cheats in one way or another. I don't really trust the Riders to be completely honest and clean, but I trust the UCI even less! I have read a lot the details of the "drug bust" for both Maes and Rude; and it seems both busts were completely BS without any concrete evidence of cheating. What is even worse about all this is the testing is very random, inconsistent; and incomplete. Inconsistent as in how they test; Incomplete as in what they test. 50 people can commit the crime, but the UCI will only look at 1 guy and test him and no others. In addition, it is as if the UCI drug testers just pull results out of their asses to criminalize people just so they can justify their own jobs, get paid, and look like heroes. The accused never gets any defense! Should we really trust in one body with that much power? I say let them all cheat! If everyone is cheating then it is not cheating is it? If they kill themselves by cheating then oh well! Who are we to tell them how they should cheat, what they should eat, or how they should live their lives?
