Reactions continue to pour in as the leader of the Archdiocese of San Francisco banned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from receiving the Holy Eucharist in her home archdiocese. Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone says he struggled with the decision for many years. It did not come lightly, he says he has had conversations with the House Speaker about the importance of human life and why Catholics must do all they can to protect it. Prior to writing the letter, he says he prayed, fasted and even consulted with a range of Church leaders. He says it's important to understand the basic teaching of receiving the Body of Christ. It was a decision he did not want to make. Archbishop Cordileone says, "So many Catholics now don't understand the teaching about the Eucharist, what it is, Who it is and what the proper disposition is to receive it. What it means to receive the most Holy Eucharist. To help them understand the great evil of abortion and what it means to cooperate with evil under different levels. So I wanted to be clear in laying out that teaching." Capitol Hill Correspondent, Erik Rosales reports.
