Someone made the point that the document describes a blessing as "descending from above." Well, in the Bible something does descend from above on those whose sins cry out to heaven for vengence. In October 2019, an idol was venerated in the Vatican. Soon after the world was struck by a pandemic (Italy was hit particularly hard) and our churches were closed. If covid was a punishment for Pachamama, what kind of punishment will these curses bring but what Our Lady of Akita warned us of?

The document is so well written as to deceive even priests into thinking "there's nothing really wrong with it". I am amazed and a bit disappointed about the number of good priests falling into the trap. The document says directly, "Within the horizon outlined here appears the possibility of blessings for couples in irregular situations and for couples of the same sex.." What do you think "couples of the same sex" means? What is a couple? A couple is a pairing of one man and one woman. Two persons OF THE SAME SEX cannot be a couple, so just on this point alone the document is shown to be a lie. It uses woke language (in another place it mentions 'inclusion' as some sort of virtue that God sends down a blessing for). It's a sick, sick joke. It is pure evil, straight from the mouth of the devil.

I'm gay, was raised Catholic, and have struggled with this issue all my life. For the Pope now to suddenly move the goal post is confusing and actually diminishes the cross I've had to bear for a lifetime, as we all have to bear our own crosses. After all of that, the "memo" from the Vatican is, "Guess what, it wasn't a cross after all. Jokes on you." I wasn't happy to hear this. I was resentful. It diminishes my cross, my sufferings, and my journey. How can you obey the Lord, if his chief messenger keeps changing the rules? The whole thing feels like a kick in the head.

Exactly!! Well stated brother! We are ALL sinners! The difference in this issue is that many of these people want blessings as a way to justify their actions and thus consider them not sinful. If I go out and commit adultery, I would never go to the church and expect it to “bless” me and my adulterous partner!! Recognizing our faults, asking forgiveness, and making an honest attempt to avoid repeating these sins is what we are supposed to be doing.

Stay strong, read the scriptures. The hallmark of this papacy is confusion. I, too, felt betrayed when he issued Amoris Laetitia. My marriage has not been easy, but I knew God's design is for lifelong marriage. Now, after almost 50 years of marriage, I'm glad I did. I wonder how many young couples felt that it's okay to divorce and remarry after he issued it. I only know there's peace when one follows God's laws.

There are several videos on KZbin from conservative Roman Catholics defending Fiducia Supplicans, Francis, and Francis's advisors. They're clinging desperately onto the disclaimers included in the declaration. I can't help thinking of the fable of the emperor's new clothes. In it, if you'll recall, a child stated the obvious when all the emperor's ministers and grandees repeated the lie of the emperor's tailor. I experienced pathological narcissism a few years ago at the hands of somebody I loved and trusted, and it destroyed my mental and physical health. Not an exaggeration. I came to understand that I wanted to believe the con so badly that I willingly ignored all the red flags, bought into the gaslighting, and continually laid myself bare to somebody who never, ever did the same for me. Many people like me say the same thing. Many victims of confidence tricksters admit that they were complicit in their own deception. Never, ever, underestimate the power of self-deception.

I am horrified about this blessing. My husband and I have been married 41 years. I have been in bad health for a few years have a service dog. We missed mass for 2 weeks due to bad health. We went to confession and wanted a blessing before my husbands cancer procedure the following day. Not only would our priest NOT give us a blessing BUT after confession, prior to our night mass starting, allowed his ushers to throw us out because I have a service dog! I am blind in one eye, have partial vision in second eye, plus heart issues. Not only were we denied a blessing but not allowed to stay in church for mass and communion. So apparently blessing are only for those living in sun- not for good Catholics trying to live a strong Catholic life.

My dear sister in Christ, I am sorry the priest withheld his blessing. He will answer to God since that is his solemn duty as a minister of our Lord. I do agree with the priest however, as to not allow your dog at Mass. There are many who are legally blind, crippled, etc. that do not bring their dogs to Mass. My grandchildren and I have pet allergies so please consider the needs of others. There is a place for animals, but Mass is not one of them.

This declaration, which these scandalous wolves fail to tell you, is an answer to the German clerics who were dissatisfied with the Pope's response to their dubia. In that first response the Pope upheld the CDF finding that same-sex unions could not, and should never be blessed, and that sin cannot be blessed. In response to that the German clerics began to create their own liturgical celebration of same-sex unions within their so-called "synodal way." With this declaration, the Pope is putting a stop to that. Along the way, in this declaration, the Dichastry put up some pastoral guidelines for any priest that may be confronted by a same-sex couple asking him for a blessing. It allows the blessing of the persons, but not the union. It also sets guidelines for when a priest may deny the blessing (like when the couple wants to legitimize their sinful reltionship, or when the blessing might misconstrue any approval of the union).

It just happened to be the customary greeting to the priest among English speakers. But elsewhere, penitents greet the confessor with the words, "Ave Maria purisima, etc." In the end, it's all about forgiveness and the mercy of God.

Murray is teaching all the faithful that the Pope can err, and has erred (quite seriously), in his papal magisterium. That is, Rev. Murray publicly -- before an international audience -- judged and accused the Pope of universally teaching error, to all of Christ's faithful, and by means of his official magisterial teachings, on matters of faith and morals. How you can simultaneously assert that such an error, promulgated in a papal document, would not be a change of doctrine is utterly beyond me! Well then.... If you read through Church history, you will find that anyone who presumes to judge the First See in this manner is anathematized. And we still know these men's names, after centuries have passed, because of the gravity of their presumption. They were schismatics and led many souls out of the unity of the Church by their public slander and accusations of the pope of their own day. So, if you would like to become Protestant, and be led by your own personal experience of the Holy Spirit, and arbitrate your own personal Deposit of Faith, you've gotten off to a great start. And Rev. Murray is your champion. But if you want to remain Catholic, then you must come to understand that Our Lord Jesus Christ appointed one man to be His visible head on earth. And Our Lord has promised to protect and secure the integrity of the True Faith precisely through the exercise of this Petrine office: via the authoritative exercise of the papal magisterium (like the document Fiducia Supplicans, for example). Moreover, you must also come to understand that Our Lord expressly does NOT do this -- does not protect nor guarantee the integrity of the Deposit of Faith -- through the many television appearances of a canon lawyer out of NYC.

As an African Catholic, I feel like there is a test of patience that I don't have the answers for in regards to these Westernized manners of approaching issues. How am I to talk to an elderly African Catholic lady about a document such as this when she doesn't understand? She has never seen such couples in her life. Surely, this is culturally deaf.
