I don't see many marching percussionists playing "8 on a hand" anymore. It was the bread and butter during my marching days and still is today. This exercise builds independence and dexerity with both hands and forearms if practiced accordingly

Met is either further away or closer to the audio receptor than the snare drummers are. Flams are unavoidable.
