I’ve been a juror and I don’t appreciate this type of news coverage that tries to sew doubt about whether or not people on a jury can really set aside their biases. They can and they do - primarily because they are very impressed with the seriousness of the charges, they have been presented with the evidence of the crime as it pertains to the defendant and the charges and they are now focused on that and not the defendant. Additionally they receive instructions from the judge reminding them of the charges and of the evidence that was accepted by the court for them to weigh and the relevant findings that the relevant laws require that they must be able to make i order to find the defendant guilty. Lastly they are not alone in making the decision. During the deliberations some jurors may bring up extraneous matters like their opinion of the way the defendant looked and other jurors will very quickly pint out and remind those who go off on this type of side track that his looks or “fame” are not the issue and the jury gets refocused. Jurors take this duty very seriously and it is shameful that CNN or any other news outlet won’t help chip away at our faith in the legal system by allowing this cheap “both sides” nonsense. You really failed big time Jake.

This is a defendent with supporters who threaten and have engaged in violence: Drumpf (his real family name) is engaging in stochastic terrorism and he has troll farms from Russia in these threats too. (proven). Jurors should be protected with as few facts a possible. RE witnesses: they too have been massively threatened. Defence counsel has a very dismal record for hold their client accountable for his behavior. Folks lives are in danger, and these acolytes have been violent numerous times. I strongly disagree with your position.

Defense counsel is given information about who the witnesses are and what they will testify to. It's the jurors who deserve as much protection as possible.
