Not knowing all Prince's connections but some SpecOp experience, with connections made on Active Duty, and subsequent connections made in contracts; along with his financial backing; I'm sure he built up a little cred in time. That said, I listened to his sales job on replacing U.S. military with a mercenary group in Afghanistan ... completely laughable and problematic on a number of levels, though it would give Mr. Trump a victory in front of The Gullibles in that, "I brought the troops back from Afghanistan".

There's nothing new about Prince; he's just less covert about his business plan. As the military "downsized" and "right sized" post Reagan Cold War buildup, more and more contractors were stepping in to do (non-fighting) work at U.S. bases home and abroad. Fast forward to 2010-2011, I don't remember the exact count of civilian contractors on bases like Bagram Airfield and Kandahar Airfield but it was pretty substantial. Not saying a whole lot of civilian-contractors were hired guns back then but over time it sure makes it much easier to put lipstick on the pig when a government eager to "stay connected" with actions in hot zones can keep involvement a little more subdued with sub-dudes that don't have a stars and stripes patch on their arms.
