The first story he tells about getting jumped by Pakistani lads - I can say with almost 100% certainty most of their parents have no idea their kids were doing that. I remember it amongst my peer group, we were different people at home and different people away from parental influence. Thats the same for all teenagers, unfortunately with a lot of Pakistani youth, it's "cool" to mimic gangster culture when we're young. We're from working class backgrounds and unfortunately a lot of the examples of material success a lot of people see are "gangster" types. Your parents values don't really matter that much when you see people who go against them having so much "success" as you see it. It's a battle a lot of our community is losing. People don't engage enough with their own kids to try and win that battle of values, or don't have the skillset required to do so. It's stupid because there are so many of us fighting these battles, but we do it alone, there isn't a communal approach. There is a severe lack of effective leadership within our communities.

I was a Pakistani immigrant to the US as a kid and I saw this behavior with a lot of Pakistani-descent youth that were not born back home and didn't have much connection to their culture, and I think that's the real problem there. I come from a rough neighborhood in Karachi and I never understood this. My outside environment was rough, but God forbid my parents or grandparents or anyone in my neighborhood found out that we'd do stuff like this on the street. I think there would be a line of people around the block waiting to give you a beating.

I’ve always gotten on with Pakistani or bengalis , your right about the youth , I find sometimes they are misguided into the ‘black gangster’ culture like a lot of white youths too and think it’s cool. Not rlly on topic to what this man's experience is but an important discussion in the same topic: I went to a school where it was predominantly white. I was one of 3 SE asians, and my friend was the sole muslim in the school (potentially the town itself). The school brought in a speaker to give a presentation on the middle east. He spoke well of the plc at first, which is all fine and dandy. But then he spent the next hour preaching hate and racism, saying things like 'to be scared of them' and 'dont be afraid but dont let your guard down'. Im from a country where half the ppl are muslim. Im not muslim myself, and have an ethnic background of being chinese, so most ppl didnt know i was from an islamic country. But my friend had made it known to ppl he was muslim from the start. I could feel all the eyes on him. The man went on talking hate, and even when i confronted him not once, but twice, he still stood firm in his ideas. No one else saw this presentation as even questionable. I asked a few others later on and they said that "yes, it sounds kinda iffy but he is right. He has a point". My friend and i complained to a teacher we trusted and (luckily), she could see why it was so wrong. She brought it up with the head of year who brought this man in for his presentation in the first place. The head of year never apologised. she brought my friend to question him, ask him about it, but never once said 'sorry'. The school never issued a statement out (essentially letting all these students run around thinking racist things). I found out a year later that this isnt the first time this man has come to preach his ideas. He did the same when my sister was in the school, and there was one muslim girl then too. She later went to my sister's room and cried (they're not even friends. It's just that she knew no one else understood remotely what the man had done). I hate that school (for numerous other reasons), but that experience stuck with me. No one apologised. Everyone went on as if this man was right. I could see ppl treating my friend differently. It shocks me that no one did or said anything other than the two of us. I hear that the school isn't doing too well these days, so im glad to hear that they are starting to reap what they sow. They have gotten away with so many horrible things, but this experience? This experience is by far one of the worst blatant acts of racism in that school. Anyway...thats all i wanted to say. To share that experience. To...idk...just pls speak up when you see this sort of thing. My friend and i felt crazy for being the only ones who had an issue with it. EDIT: Grammar mistakes

As well as the peace and tolerance demonstrated in the top comments, I'd like to add that this video shows how important it is for communities especially the general community of an area to let people change their minds and let them reintegrate. The Islamic community Chris became part of has already demonstrated this warmth and the forgiveness in their hearts, I'm talking about the community at large. Turning away from an organisation such as the EDL is a huge thing to do. It takes a lot of courage, and people need a new community to join in order to step away from the EDLs hatred. If we want these organisations to lose power over people we need to be the alternative. It's not easy as plenty of people in the EDL are hard line criminals, but many I suspect are guys like Chris with unfortunate life experiences

I notice a lot of lies and misconceptions being propagated on KZbin, mainly to display a false narrative, scare the people, and give Islam a bad reputation. I respect all religions and hope that they may coexist peacefully, and I know that the majority of my Muslim brothers and sisters share my viewpoint. We're just regular people trying to make ends meet, like the rest of you. Love to everyone who reads this, especially those who despise us. I can only hope that you do thorough research and find inner peace.❤️❤️

Sure. When you're in the western worlds it's "we're all brothers and sisters who want to live in peace" and once you become a majority it's "kill the indifidels and marginalise anyone who's not like us." I've sadly spent half my life surrounded by your brothers and sisters, and if your god is real, I curse him and all of you to hell and back.

I have ex muslims friends from all over the world, Iran, Albania, Somalia, Iraq, .etc and all are cut off from their family because they left Islam. On the other hand, the so called muslims in the West that scream peace call out people for criticising Islam are the ones actually doing everything against what they’re supposed to believe in i.e sex before marriage, drugs, alcohol, tattoo, wearing makeup, expensive and revealing clothing. I am a revert muslim of 4 years. Before i became muslim. I was told the best peice of advise. "Dont follow the Muslims and dont look to the muslims. But look to islam and follow islam. Because muslims are humans and imperfect, but islam is perfect." Side note. There are many people who claim to be Muslim or others claim they are muslim purely based on their ethnical background. Like a pakistani for example. He could be doing everythibg against islam but because hes Pakistani he will call himself Muslim and other non muslims will also label him Muslim.. but its really not as simple as that. Since reverting i came to egypt to study arabic. And realising there are muslims from every part of the globe from russia to all sides of africa. The failure and ignorance of most people is they believe islam is almost a culture rather than a religion. But i can assure that is not the case. If u read the Quran it constantly calls for us to use our intellect/intelligence and to use our reasoning.....I've shared a few Quranic verses below.....I hope u can take ur time to read them And those who have no knowledge say: "Why does not Allah speak to us (face to face) or why does not a sign come to us?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike, We have indeed made plain the signs for people who believe with certainty. 2:118 Indeed, in the alternation of the night and the day and [in] what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth are signs for a people who fear Allah 10:6 It is He who made for you the night to rest therein and the day, giving sight. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen. 10:67 Say, "Observe what is in the heavens and earth." But of no avail will be signs or warners to a people who do not believe 10:101 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 15:81 Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe. 16:79 [Allah] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten." 20:126 And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. 30:21 And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge. 30:22 And He shows you His signs. So which of the signs of Allah do you deny? 40:81 And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent. 41:39 And in the creation of yourselves and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain [in faith]. 45:4

People driven away from Islam because of the actions of Muslims, they will be asked about it in the afterlife. Amazing how when a person overcomes the negative stereotypes fashioned by popular culture and looks at Islam objectively without emotion, they come to the conclusion that Islam is the truth and then subscribe to that faith. The greatest example of this was the Caliph Omar - where he was so enraged with what Muhammad was preaching, that he set out to kill the Prophet Muhammad but instead became one of his strongest followers and probably the greatest ruler in Islam. You do realise, what you stated is the Islamic view. You have an Islamic view on life. In Islam, Prophet Mohammad pbuh created peace treaties with Jews, Christians and Muslims. So that each person can follow their religion together, in harmony and peace. As in Islam, you can not force religion onto anyone. As we know from historical evidence, Islamic state run peace treaties to allow everyone to freely follow their religion, were broken by Jews and Christians. They wanted to eradicate Islam. What we see in the media, they still want to remove Islam. I'm Muslim, and I know the truth. The most important thing about religion, is respect to humanity. And the differences are created by Churches. Jesus never stated he was God so worship him. It's not in the Bible, yet Christians believe in this. Why? Jews would believe in Mohammad as the last messenger, if he was a Jewish descent. He is Arab, so they disregard. Finally, Muslims believe in the Messiah, Jesus, also Moses,.Abraham, many more. Mohammad pbuh as final messenger. If one reads the Quran, they will realise what the truth about Islam is. Which is why Islam is the fastest growing religion. I'm British, Muslim. My country's history shows Crusaders destroying my brothers and sisters. Crusades spread by the sword. Yet, in Islam, no evidence shows Islam spread by the sword. In fact, current history shows Indonesia highest number of Muslims in population than any other country. Not one person killed or forced into Islam. Yet, highest number of Muslims in the world!

@@Mr-Safology I personally choose not to claim any religion even though I was raised by loving parents who claim Christianity. I Simply believe that I along with everyone else are a creation of Almighty God who loves us all equally unconditionally. I believe he has given us his love so that we may accept it and in turn love him back through our love for one another. I believe the goal is to become one with the Almighty to share his joy and glory with him and all of his creation in the kingdom of heaven.

@@travisyayes6343 Hi Travis. Your mindset is great, sincere and loving. In Islam, we say the same. In Islam, we can not judge anyone by their beliefs or themselves, only Allah can judge, not me and you. In Islam, we state to others that we have our religion, you have yours. This is in the Quran, to teach us that Allah is the judge, we are not. Why? We are all creation, we are all created by Allah/ God . In Islamic teaching, even if you are not Muslim, Allah provides for you. Allah gives you a job, so you can bring food on the table. Allah is the best of planners, and even if you disobey Allah, Allah will still provide for you. As, you are judged by believing in the creator, Allah and not associate partners with Him. So, Allah is to be worshipped alone. All prophets have taught us this, but the churches and Synagogues go against Islam. Don't know why. I have the same mindset. To live one another, to be part of a community. Respect one another. Now, to live my life in this mindset, I follow a guidance. That is the Quran. I follow my life, the same way Allah wants me to follow. It has been preserved since the revelation given to Mohammad pbuh. No verses added, no verses taken out. No mistakes and no contradictions. This is what makes the Quran, the perfect guidance for mankind. It hasn't been changed by leaders. It is preserved with full accuracy. Proof, is in the Birmingham University library. So, even evidence proves this. Travis, you have the same mindset as me, yet what guideline or moral guidance do you use?
