Alhumdulilah I was a D1 athlete who almost went to a military academy to become an officer at one of the military branches I was accepted to via West Point, Naval Academy, Merchant Marines, and the Coast Guard Academy. I got the letters from the senators and passed all the requirements to become an officer in the military. I eventually didn’t peruse it and lead a civilian life, later I also converted to Islam Alhumdulilah. There are beautiful people everywhere, including America. May the lord of the universe help us all ameen!

Imagine how the prophet felt. Isolated, embattled, you name it. For 40 years before he assumed prophethood officially. On top of that, he lost all of his children at a young age except his beloved daughter fatima. He still retained his faith. Is it no wonder he possessed the traits of a prophet? Who would have such patience? Most people either commit suicide or even wage war against God. Imagine the perseverance and will power it took and on top of that he still held on to a faith in the Almighty before he received revelation. Famous narration the prophet said to his uncle: ”Oh uncle, by God, if they put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left on the condition that I leave this matter until God makes it victorious, or I perish in it, I will not leave it.”

I totally agree with you on this prospective, but my friend, the horrific part of this is that it's extremely rare to find people like him to admit their wrong doings and to share the purity of what they received of kindness and care. What horrifies me the most is how many of them actually killed people thinking they are evil, with a similar mentality. But you have to understand it was an invasion. Those Afghanis or Iraqis were merely trying to defend their lives and families. To be thought of as mere evil creatures by a superior military force and to be destroyed just for fighting back. It's beyond devastating. Imagine you're sitting at home eating some food with your family and all of a sudden your house is leveled onto dust, seeing your wife and children's pieces and blood everywhere.. how would you truly feel? Good or bad, what you your reason be at the point. This is what has been happening to Muslim countries. It amazes me how Allah SWT can soften a hard heart and being noor into someone’s heart. Even that Dutch guy who was Wilders right hand man became Muslim after years of slander against it. Stories like these just remind me of how the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW made dua for either Hadhrat Umar RA or Abu Lahab/Jahl to become muslim and Allah SWT granted their prayer for Hadhrat Umar RA. For me, this is the same for all the reverts. Allah SWT guides whom they will.

@LeCorruptor no sir, life went way wrong when I did it my way. I gave my life to god drunk on the side of the road in Texas with a bottle of wild Turkey between my legs. I hated God and the thought of Jesus. Grew up in a stepfamily that was prominent in our church, elders even all the wild molesting us kids... then go sing about Jesus hours later. Wicked. God told me on the side of the road. " you have defined me off the sins of man claiming my name, not for who I am." He was right, I studied the Bible for myself and my life has never been the same. Even experienced dreams, demons and angels. Again, I didn't change me, Jesus and what he did on the cross didn't just change me it saved me. If you don't believe that, I still love ya and wish you the best. Truly from my heart.

I grew up in Bloomington, Indiana. In the 80s there was less Islamaphobia. Mac's story reminds me of the Malcolm X book and movie where the guy runs in the restaurants trying to Talk to Malcolm X. he says "I want to be a Muslim" Malcolm asks him if he knows what being a Muslim is. The young guy says 'no'. he tells him to go read Quran and find out about it before committing to it. he invites him to his sermons. That is how people should teach others. Learn it first before committing to it. It's not an easy commitment.
