As a Canadian woman who has been deeply following Mohammedou’s story, I pray the Canadian government gives him the apology he very much deserves. I first gained interest in his story when Mohammedou appeared on Jordan Peterson and I would like to extend a huge thank you to him for teaching me about the power of prayer and forgiveness. I myself have lived through a lot of complex trauma and following Mohammedou’s journey has very much helped me on my own healing journey! 🙏🏼

The Canadian government needs to give this man the apology he deserves and compensation after failing to protect him the same way they would protect their own people. He's been through so much! And Obama is just a joke!

His story and so many others of innocents locked up and some still there proven innocent or proven to be wrong identity or still no proof or evidence of any wrong doing, tortured and locked up for decades still so shocking and horrific! So heartbreaking for words, wasnt even more horrific and disgusting is the brave HEROS like Assange who help expose this torture, wrong doing, lies, war crimes is locked up and mentally tortured himself potientlly for life for doing what's right and what he should be praised for! #FREEASSANGE ❤🙏

Yes the canadian government should be sued but so many other people should be sued and imprisoned for these crimes, but instead they live in mansions living free

Learn the facts before you dare write here... They were supported by west at that time against the Russians, before the west turned on Afghanistan. (Just as Ukraine is supported now and people go to fight and help there) This man is innocent, they never had a proof against him or had charges, but they still horrendously tortured him and they don't deny these facts. Didn't even let him go when they were sure he was innocent, because he would talk about his torture. In the end mostly because his diary and other help, he was released many years later. Do you think they would let people make a movie on his life if there was still suspicion about him? Have some empathy.

@Oktay Akbaş Gimme a break...Americans Bad Terrorists good..same old anti american propaganda..poor old afghani al qaeda were so pissed off that they rammed two planes into buildings killing thousands...don't they deserve your "Empathy" ..how about the fallen soldiers do they not deserve your empathy ?....the Bacha Bazi boys how about them ?..afghani glorious culture of Bacha bazi do they not deserve empathy ?..... Slahi is known to have recruited several al Qaeda operatives before his detention in Mauritania in November 2001. His most high-profile recruits were the top members al Qaeda's cell in Hamburg (Germany), the key planners of the 9/11 attack. The bipartisan "9/11 Commission Report" found him to be "a significant al Qaeda operative," who was "well known to U. S. and German intelligence." Just one month after recruiting the Hamburg cell, Slahi traveled to Montreal where he reportedly met with an al Qaeda cell.to carry out the failed bombing plot at the LAX airport in December 1999. While he denied many of the US military's charges against him during hearings at Gitmo, he admitted that he had sworn allegiance to Osama bin Laden and to transferring thousands of dollars to Abu Hafs al Mauritania, his cousin and who was a longtime spiritual advisor to bin Laden.... Don't be blind...
