You're right. A trial in The Hauge, as one example, would see him violating Protocol III (on the use of incendiary weapons) of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCCW). There is clear evidence that white phosphorus has been used in heavily populated areas in Gaza inflicting casualties and immense suffering to a predominant under age civilian population in that area. Piers and the western talking heads keep saying that Israel is responding out of a sense of trauma that they've experienced on Oct 7th and that the overreaction stems from that (some have even called it justified). But have they ever asked what the Palestinians must feel like? Having experienced what Israel did on the Oct 7th many times over throughout decades? Why is Israel allowed to be angry and wipe out an entire region out of that one incident, but Palestinians can't fight back? they can't be angry? It's a bit more complex than that though, what if the occupying state doesn't actually want to occupy but feels it has to only to protect itself, because whenever it starts to deescalate its occupation horrible attacks begin to happen? Because the organsiation governing the occupied state has its stated target to completely destroy the occupying one, and has never been interested in peaceful coexistence? Does self-defense also not apply in that situation?

Most of Israel is currently very much uninterested in coexistence as you say, and the exact same applies to most of Palestine. But 20-30 years ago things were very different on the Israeli side, there was a strong left and many, many more of us wanted peace and a two state solution, at that point Palestinians refused multiple offers of going back to the 1967 borders and started the second intifada and suicide bombings, and then both the peace process and the Israeli left died 😥 if you're not aware of that maybe you should read some history books? Your claim the land was "stolen" is also a one sided and very oversimplified way of looking at it. Please have a read about the 1947 resolution and the 1948 and 1967 wars and try to see things from both perspectives, any hope we have of peace depends on being able to come to a mutual understanding of the situation rather than each side digging further into their one sided reality (which is currently happening on both sides)
