A lot of good points. I spent over $ 3,000.00 bucks on old watchtower literature to verify what I was learning about their history was correct. Yeah, sounds crazy but I had to do it. Losing your faith in watchtower can be a blow but I’m over it now. Took me about six months to realize what I thought was the truth was nothing but a lie. Even got a 1917 edition of the finished mystery book. The stupidity that’s in it I could not believe until I had an original hard copy.

It’s been a few years for me since I stopped going to meetings but I was drifting away for a while before that. I’ve learned that narrative is key. We know the news networks have used this more than ever especially with elections and Covid etc. Bible interpretation can also be pushed this way, for example: “We must obey god as ruler rather than men” Acts 5:29 Witnesses mainly use this scripture to show that god’s laws (through the JW channel only) must be adhered primarily if they contradict human rules. But, the governing body are men. Therefore, we must question and scrutinize the rules of men if we are to be faithful to this scripture, this is not an option for faithful christians as Acts 5:29 is very direct. The fact we are not allowed to do this as JW’s proves they have elevated their rules above Gods rules and/or principles. We clearly know what the bible says against this, it is actually equivalent to adding to the bible

I continue to enjoy your story so very much. It's so true that once you allow yourself to open up any xJW site and listen to the stories there, then that is it--the spell is broken. We realize we've been living in this fog all this time and wonder why we didn't see their mess that was right in front of us. But it's wonderful, nonetheless--to finally experience Sweet Freedom. Then the search for real truth begins. It's a journey. If yours is anything like mine, what you believe may be one thing now and transform into something else later on. For me I can finally say I feel very clear about what I have come to believe and understand after being out of the fog for 20 years now. I love the way you expressed your conviction now in finally knowing without a doubt that this is not the truth. That's huge right there. Many can't even come to that conclusion because they've been so thoroughly brainwashed. My gosh, Meleah, I just went through your entire story in one session! Talk about being caught in a cleft stick... As you say, the actual abuse you suffered was in itself not as invasive and humiliating as what has happened to many other people, What is so perfidious the manner in which those around you dealt with it, most particularly the elders of your church. I've never been a JW and my family relationships are a far cry from anything you describe. At the same time none of us have every attempted to convince anyone that we lead exemplary lives or our beliefs are an example for others. That whole way of thinking is so hypocritical and silly that, in the long run, must set the organisation up for being shown up for the cult it is. As for you, I sincerely hope you'll get the resolution you're looking for in becoming part of the ex-JW community. From what I've seen, it is a very powerful and supportive community and every new person who joins it does her bit to help the steady stream of newcomers who enter, having just left the religion. I shall look forward to hearing what you have to say in about two years time, when a lot of the emotion will have subsided and you will be firmly established in a new way of life with new outlooks.

another interesting perspective on coming out of a religion one has been a part of since childhood. a good listen where the public can learn. towards the end perhaps a little critique, if i may. as someone who has been in more than 30 churches in my lifetime, i can testify as well that Jehovah's name is used in many of them. not as frequently as with Jehovah's witnesses; but almost always in reference to the 'FATHER'. the question is with matthew 24:14. the 'end' did not come in the first century; therefore 'the end' had a future meaning. the 'time of the end' is identified with 'the last days', and GOD's people are then seen on a march through the great tribulation and the end of this world, at armageddon. where Jehovah's witnesses have it wrong, is in their assessment of the value of matthew 24:14. jesus did not say that the preaching would be the only sign. matthew 24:14 was just one of many aspects of the sign. the lollards, waldenses, anabaptists, and millerites, among so many others, went on preaching campaigns, and the 'end' did not come. with Jehovah's witnesses it may very well turn out the same. another religion marching off into the sunset. what jesus did say, is that the identifying mark would be how christians treated one another. he did not link this with the preaching work. he did not say ... 'only if you preach can you be my disciples'. the fact remains that this might not be the time. it wasn't for the other groups that i have mentioned. in my research into the religion of Jehovah's witnesses i find that they clearly do not measure up to jesus' words of 'love among yourselves'. with so many being disfellowshipped each and every year, with countless others being reproved publicly and privately, with so many leading double lives, of the approx 8.5 million members there may be only a couple of million members who can actually claim to be Jehovah's witnesses. matthew 24:14, to me, does appear a way of recruiting members and weeding out those who do not fit in, and keeping others who can be mentally and emotionally controlled. love of Jehovah has little or even nothing to do with it. i am eager to learn what this young woman has yet to say.

Glad your thinking for yourself. Good video. I have not seen a lot of videos against the good Jehovah witnesses. Which is good. I know that there are 100s of thousands of good a genuine witnesses. My mother is one and I have gone to many meetings and assemblys , I have always had a off set feeling when ever I had gone to a meeting. But I believe that God can be most understood through some of their teachings, meaning that God is working through the people and not the governing body. Let me know your thoughts on this if you like. Have great day and keep God close to your heart.

Believing fairy tales doesn't make them real and true. Burying ones head in the sand means they accept everything their leadership is. jw will tell you that about other religions so they know the principle. What is good? How can one work for an employer who requires one steal from others yet want to be seen as a good person? By one's association to the crimal that one is recognized. jw say that one is viewed as good if no one sees them doing wrong. So if one hides their bad behavior well are they just fine? That is the whole problem with societies that silence the victims including the corporate governments nowadays.

Beverly, wow I am sorry to read that your husband is this way, despite not ever being a jw. My husband was never a JW either, but he does not mind listening/over hearing what I listen to on YT. I think the closed caption idea is also, good for those EX jw s who have spouses still in the org, who very much are against these videos, as well. For example, I know someone who is Ex JW but her husband is still a Jw and it is such a bad situation for her, (He is very mean to her) she has to do all her communicating (secret email account, talking to non jw/ex jw on phone, in secret when hes not home etc..) or when he is another location, to not get backlash from him, and bad treatment. People in her situation would benefit too, from this. I had no idea a YT account holder (making videos) had to change the settings to even enable that, until reading this comment. Wow. I thought closed caption was automatic if the viewer chose that. So that is good to know, now. I had no idea, I (or any other YT'er ) had to do it in their settings in order to enable it. Thanks to the comment I am replying to I too , now know of this.

Yes, I agree. It is also, possible to still believe in a creator entity/God of some form (If you choose to) and with or without belief in the bible while still at the same time not subscribing to organized religions. Some people think you have to be atheist or whatever to have that mindset. To each their own, but I just wanted to mention that. I'm of that mindset (not atheist, but not "christian" either) . Look into Natural Law, if you can (suggesting this to her & anyone else on this) and what Mark Passio has to say on what Natural Law really is. It is a whole different viewpoint, but worth looking into even if you don't agree with it. Im the type of person who chooses to be open minded, and listening to others ideas/ view points ,and different paradigm/way of thinking, just to learn about things , all the while not automatically blindly believing what I listen to either. I think me being that way, even back when I was a unbaptised (never baptized but pretty much grew up in&around it since age 12) publisher, I had this mindset and it may have been why I eventually woke up to so many things (not just jw related), over time. I am just too curious (and like to know how others think&believe whether I agree or not) to stay away from "apostate" talk, lol. Although, it still did take me two decades to "wake up" from that while being PO(Making meetings as unbaptised was so hard)MI mindset.

@@ms.anonymousinformer242 i'm the type of person that don't like beliefs. beliefs are just stories of the mind about something not experienced. after i left jws i was so disappointed from religion that i became an atheist. but after years i realized that atheism is a religion/belief system. it rejects something just because it can't understand it. so i thought i should be agnostic. simply not knowing. this mindset helped me to research areas i was avoiding because of the jw leftovers in my mind. in conclusion, god must be experienced. it cannot be understood through logic, beliefs, intellect, books, science. it is out of thought processing.

Technically it was adultery. It is simply a word, look it up in the dictionary. You weren't divorced. But who cares? They also call sex between two consenting adults not married "fornication." Who cares what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home? If someone is harmed, call the police. Otherwise, they should mind their own business. Sahidic Coptic translation uses an indefinite article with the word “god” in the final part of John 1:1. The Greek used in the BIble does not have an indefinite article "a" so that's why you don't see the "a" in John 1:1, The Sahidic Coptic translation uses an indefinite article with the word “god” in the final part of John 1:1. again, john 1:1 about theos - Strong's Concordance theos: God, a god , so "a god" is a valid translation. "The NAS New Testament Greek Lexicon" defines theos as "a god" as well. so it is a valid translation. Also Thayer's Greek Lexicon also defines theos as "a god" so it is a valid translation Is Jesus the same as Jehovah? Jesus is the SON. Jehovah is Our FATHER (Isa 63:16). Even the trinity doctrine states the SON IS NOT THE FATHER, so Jesus is NOT JEHOVAH How many person is GOD? God said " I am God Almighty", The use of I am, means GOD is ONE PERSON. Do you use I am, me, myself, me alone for ONE LITERAL PERSON or THREE PERSONS? You only use those phrases for ONE literal person and NEVER FOR THREE PERSONS. Is Jesus described as a Morning Star like the Angels? Yes. Rev 22:16 - 16 “‘I, Jesus, sent my angel to bear witness to you about these things for the congregations. What does Firsborn means? So depending on the context the firstborn can be the chief, principal, or first in time or place or rank. Still though, when you use the firstborn with an OF, “firstborn OF”, because of the OF , that means the firstborn BELONGS TO THE GROUP, just like when you say firstborn of the sheep. The firstborn is a sheep. So Jesus belongs to the group of creation, firstborn of all creation. Does John 8:58 correlate with Exodus 3? In Exodus 3, GOD is called I WILL BECOME (not I am) and does not correlate with John 8:58 Word: DID Pronounce: haw-yaw Use: TWOT-491 Verb 1) to be, become, come to pass, exist, happen, fall out

Dia - a primary preposition denoting the channel of an act Notice it says CHANNEL OF AN ACT So Colossians 1:16 simply mentions that Jesus is USED BY GOD AS A CHANNEL OF AN ACT, AN INSTRUMENT in the Creation. Compare that to GOD in 1 Cor 8:6 , notice for God the Father he uses the word EK - or ex ex a primary preposition denoting ORIGIN (the point whence action or motion proceeds), from, out (of place, time, or cause; literal or figurative; direct or remote):- Notice GOD the Father is the ORIGIN/FROM ,THE SOURCE FROM WHOM ALL THINGS are created. BIG DIFFERENCE. So the FATHER IS the ORIGIN of all things. For JEsus, it didn;t use the word Origin but "THrough" which in the Original Greek word also means "a primary preposition denoting the channel of an act". So God the Father is like the WRITER, he used his Son as a channel of a act to write (like a pen). So the only writer is the Father, the Son was used as a channel and NOT THE ORIGIN of creation. This is confirmed by Jesus in John 5:19 - " Jesus said to them: “Most truly I say to you, the Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing.+" JESUS CANNOT DO A SINGLE THING , his FATHER always guide him.
