If you worry about stalkers, no, despite a cult-like die hard fanbase they're probably the most well-protected celebrities in their private life in the industry. You rarely find ANY picture of the girls outside of their time in costumes or back when they're part of a group called Sakura Gakuin, especially Yui - who left the group due to health reasons and want to go her own way, despite the fanbase was worrying about her, no one knew what it was, not a single photo of her was leaked since then, none, in more than 5 years with fans hoping she'll make a comeback before the official new member announced few months ago. their personal social medias, contact infos, where they live,... Good reaction, thanks! Do I like BABYMETAL? No. I LOVE them. 😁 And don't worry, I used to be a metal elitist and ended up bored of listening always the same thing. And that was when BABYMETAL appeared in my life, and I'm not stepping back. About the song itself, "Mirror Mirror" is a great song, one of my favorites from the new album, THE OTHER ONE, actually. That initial progressive riff is amazing and so are the kinda metalcore verse (quoting Grimms' Fairy Tales), the crazy pre-chorus quoting Shakespeare's MacBeth, that very BABYMETAL chorus and that nasty breakdown. And I really can't wait to the live version of this one! Until next time! 🤘🦊

BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old when the group began. All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these for a start. Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls. Megitsune LIVE at Budokan 2021 Syncopation LIVE Yava LIVE with Kami Band intro at 2017 Fox Festival Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan Headbanger LIVE Tales of the Destinies LIVE Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.

Usually I am not into overly "prog" elements but even when they use technical prog passages they still fit within the more "concrete" parts of the songs so it makes it not only more palatable to me...but it makes me like the more technical riffs much more awesome to me. Maybe I am slightly biased against the more technical styles since they aren't what I have focused on as a guitarist but overall I love chaotic elements within a sense of overall order. If that makes any sense haha I love the vocal processing even though I love their clean vocals! Definitely fits what is going on within the song. Keep 'em coming!

Babymetal has dominated my playlist for years, as someone who grew up as a metalhead due to relatives around me getting me into Metallica when I was young. They just released their first concept album, The Other One. Monochrome off the album is my favorite Babymetal song, which knocked the previous reigning champion Rondo of Nightmare down to second. Which if you haven't seen Rondo of Nightmare, I recommend the version from Budokan Black Night from 2014, with the Mischiefs of Metal Gods intro. Off the new album I of course recommend Monochrome (Official Lyric Video), and the live performance of Light and Darkness which is uploaded by who? as Light and Darkness (Live) [SUBTITLED].

Nice reaction. Wanting to expand one's horizons is a good thing. It can be difficult. Getting out of your comfort zone. Sometimes can be very jarring. Babymetal started out with an idea of being a great way to get folks who never knew metal before to become fans of it. Much like themselves. But what has happened over the years is its gone both ways. Folks who only listened to metal finding themselves looking into more diverse music. This has been good for everyone. Jpop artist getting some worldwide attention. And metal artist getting more attention in Japan. When Babymetal started out there were many metalhead gate keepers who were not ready for different interpretation of metal. Cried us a river they did. But over time taste change and more and more folks are looking for metal singers who can sing with clean clear vocals. Babymetal uses growly growl vocals in the background and screams where it adds something to the song. accenting what they're doing. Musically Babymetal is about as diverse as it gets. And yet it's just about all in the metal category. Which one is debatable. They blend genres. It's what they do. For Babymetal this is the way.

I've yet to see perfect blue, but as mentioned, Babymetal are very much protected from the public. We mostly only get to see them on stage. For example, they've only done 2 meet & greets ever. And have no personal publicly known social media (they probably have private LINE accounts, LINE is the 'Whatsapp of Japan'). Babymetal has an origin in idol industry and their have been some terrible accidents in that industry. Babymetal started to go to a few location outside of Asia in 2012 and their first international tour in 2014. In 2016 their was a meme among Babymetal fans 'SAS-metal' or 'SASsy-METAL' (lots of people in Babymetal have a metal name, you can or could get your own official one if you join their fan club). SAS is one of the UK special forces. And it's about a particular bodyguard. So much so that even journalists writing interview articles mentioned him, called him things like 'Mountain'. That they needed him, maybe says something about stupid people on social media saying stupid things. Also these young ladies are equipped with special sensors: they can sense cameras. Probably grown into them from years of experience in the entertainment industry.🙂 While many, many of the fans would love to meet them, we are happy they are safe, especially in their earlier years they were just kids of course. Also they are still hardly above 4 Feet, 11 Inches / 1.5 meters tall. They might seem like 10 feet / 3 meters tall when they are performing on stage though. So in some sense they are still a bit like the precious dolls they were when they were kids. That said they are extremely fit, so if they did some kind of martial arts other than Karate choreography they would probably pack a punch. Anyway... thanks for the reaction, glad you like it !

Great first reaction. Looks like my original (and slightly longer) comment has disappeared (thanks KZbin bots!🤬) and I can't remember everything I said now. I will just say this - They have about 60 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre (thrash, nu-metal, djent, black and death metal, Prog, folk, power/speed etc) and they will mix or blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal - not just JPop, you will find Latin, Bollywood, reggae, ska, EDM, trance, Finnish polka ... actually you name it they have probably done it. If you don't like one song, no problem just try another and the chances are you will really enjoy it. They are a live act first and foremost - the official videos are all very good (a couple are exceptionally good), but live is where they are always at their very best.
