What's not to love here? Two trucks with a distinct SoCal cab and a distinct East Coast body. I couldn't believe how good those takeoffs were, i don't remember the original being so good. nice to see you got some shots with the old backup camera there eh? back in the good old days when trucks were cooler and technology was worse.

same with the surprise! but I included the first clip and I think another that were already posted just to flash everyone back I guess...I was very pleased with hearing that in editing, and not even remembering it. glad you liked these.

Wow, those are some really really cool rims in the Wxll in particular... almost like a fire truck haha. Back in the days when the truck from my video from last week never existed could you find something as classic as this. Where did they get these NorCal trucks from if you can remember? Neat shot at 4:22 - sums up backyard service pretty well. I guess their WXLL Leach Beta is the only relic left running down in the South Bay from that era and I hope to find it soon. Nice video, thanks for sharing

glad you liked..yeah I never knew what division these all came from, just the Los Altos had similar equipment with the kickbar + tippers that swing out of the way from one truck I found on street view. but then again Golden Gate Disposal and/or Sunset Scavenger I think had that arrangement on some older trucks too, so the most accurate I can be is that they're from the Bay Area. thanks for the comment!

Great video! Really love all the trucks! I especially love the takeoff of the truck at 5:38 - love that truck! What number was that truck? What year was it, if you can remember? L10 Cummins and Allison HT740 in it, that's for sure! Was that a Volvo WXLL or WhiteGMC WX64? What was the body, Leach 2R2? What company did that truck come from, if you remember? Any more footage of that truck or a truck that sounds just like it?

I know, me too. it's truck 1234, the same WXLL with Leach 2R2 body as in the very first clip. Both of these were being run by Athens Services in the LA area and were acquired when they took over for NorCal Waste's operations down there. NorCal must have brought them down from somewhere in the bay area, but I never knew which city exactly. unfortunately both trucks have been retired, so I don't have any more to post of these. one day I'll have some longer EDCO videos from yesteryear to upload, and I'm sure the particular truck I'm thinking of also has that HT740 and Cummins L10. thanks for confirming that engine and transmission and I'm glad you enjoyed this

Not a problem with the engine and tranny - that's actually my favorite engine/transmission combination! Were these trucks scrapped or sold off?

Most likely scrapped, if they still exist then they're probably deep in Mexico somewhere
