Now after being found guilty of the murder of Susana Morales, it is so heartbreaking that this young man could throw it all away when he could have such a positive presence for teens in the community instead of being a force that brought harm to them. He demonstrated what could be possible for trouble teens by by himself being a member of the military, a police officer. He could have been a mentor instead of a murderer. Now kids will just feel they cannot trust anybody. I have been intrigued with this case as I wanted to understand, "why do this?" What was the gain from all the destruction and devastation this brought to so many lives including his own. It's baffling to me, to be honest, as on the surface he appeared to have so much going for himself. But nobody knows "the evil that lurks in the heart of men." We can feel sorrow for both sides in this devastating, tragic event. Susana Morales murdered and Miles Bryant destroyed his own life by taking hers. And there are two families who are now left without their loved ones. This is so sad all the way round. God help us all. My prayers of comfort to all who have been affected by this tragedy. And may the Soul of Susana Morales rest a little easier now.

Because of the extreme expense and time it takes to prosecute a death penalty trial. We're talking millions of dollars and decades before it ends. It is much cheaper to keep him in prison for life. Someone said that GA uses the death penalty for extreme cases which I took to mean where someone is tortured over an extended period or were a spree or serial killer. Most states took the death penalty off of the books because it has been proven to have never been a deteerent for any crime and it is a huge waste of resources.

@@johno1544Georgia is a death penalty state. There are several problems with giving the death penalty. One being pharmaceutical companies are refusing to give states the drugs to impose the death penalty. It's happening right here in Indiana. That has to be determined before the trial. Some jurisdictions do not have enough money in their budget to pay for a capital case and it is faster and cheaper to put someone in prison for life. All the research done by scores of researchers all over the world proves that the death penalty has no effect on the murder rate. It is just a way to enrich law firms that specallize in appealing such cases.

Don't believe me?? Go look up the he case of Wesley Vickers and Stanley Williams... Then holla at me. The WHOLE Gwinnett is a sham, show and full of shit. They used these Hispanic people like puppet to get their votes in the upcoming election. Initially they LITERALLY called the victim a runaway addict teen with a history of doing such things. Now, all of a sudden she is their angle. Hell, the one officer said personally he spent off duty time and extra energy because his wife is Hispanic and that girl look like his daughter.. so, does that mean any non Hispanic victim get less attention??? I agree 100% he’s guilty So don’t misread this question - why would he not go back to find his gun??? That to me is so confusing and dumbfounding. He knew where she was, and probably the area where his gun would be - why would he not go back and get it??

Seems too me it was too much evidence against buddy. I believe he and either th girls boyfriend or his girlfriend killed her and one of them dropped the gun so, he covered it up by reporting it missing. Or he was over confident in thinking by reporting it missing the police would think the person that took it is the perp. My question is, WHERE WAS SHE GOING??? and why the other teen lied for her?? And if they pinged phones why at no time if they were together that their phones pinged together prior to her phone being thrown out .. why did the boyfriend and others bring up her history of running away and being on drugs??? Why did his lawyer not call ONE witness?? And even the girlfriend said she saw him prior and she didn't see anyone in the car. This case is weird asf. But I know PERSONALLY Gwinnett does NOT care about victims they care about STATISTICS..

I think it’s important to acknowledge each and every charge. If you murder 20 people but only get sentenced to life for one of them, the families of the 19 others may not feel vindicated. One day though, we all will have to stand before the ultimate judge who will determine where we spend eternity. How are you gonna do on that day? Any time we’ve told a lie, stolen something, looked with lust (adultery of the heart), used God’s name in vain, or committed any other sin, we are in danger of going to hell. The punishment for sin is death. But God did something wonderful so that we wouldn’t have to go to hell. Jesus Christ, Son of God and God in the flesh, came and paid the fine we owed by dying in our place, then rising from the dead, defeating sin and death. It’s like if you had a bunch of speeding tickets and someone else paid them, you’re off the hook. No amount of good works we can do can save us. It wouldn’t work in a court of law, and it won’t work with God. All we have to do is repent of sin and trust in Jesus to save us. Not because we are good, but because He is good. It is a free gift!

@@skipfluck4299 you obviously don’t know what DEI means. It has not a single thing to do with crime stats. And to say hiring standards this or that and DEI had anything to do with WHY he did what he did when white officers not subject to DEI have done the same and WORSE moots the whole point. But to be honest when I see white people mention anything DEI, affirmative action or equal playing field related….I dismiss it and the person speaking because you really have to lack braincells to claim every person of color only has certain opportunities afforded to them based on handouts.
