They had the cell phone data of him right there where he put Ms. Morales' body. Would that have been enough?? Or Ms. Bates stalking report? So happy he was SO dumb as to loose his gun...go back...and not find it a second time with cell data again! Because he's such a dummy... He had what? 2-3 girlfriends...and that just wasn't enough for him? He must have WANTED to rape and kill. Had to stalk other women and offer young ladies rides and then abduct and rape a child. Is Ms. Morales the only female he has allegedly murdered? Or are there others? I'm just wondering. Did he rape any females when he was in the military?

Most police departments 21 is the age required. Sadly they can’t wait for 35 year old mature people. Like the military they need young, brave people who are willing to risk it all for the greater good. The older you get the less likely you’re willing to do that. The pool of good people is shrinking since the career has been demonized, so bad people get in. Standards are lowered ect, especially with smaller departments. RIP to that young lady.

@@January. The ad hominem aside, the use of the word "ever" in your sentence is colloquial. We all know how he " became" a police officer - he applied and went through the training. The pertinent question is how did he ever come to be accepted as an officer given his poor character. "How he ever became" is wrong because there is no active verb, so we need to use "did" hence : "How did he ever become a police officer is beyond me."

I'm confused... do you think background checks involve crystal balls and tarot cards? Try using your brain for once and do a little critical thinking. By definition, a background check involves looking into someone's history. I.e. their PAST, not their future. Unfortunately, we're not yet able to run a test to identify what crimes someone WILL commit.

Why would anyone leave a gun inside their vehicle, especially a police officer. I don't believe a police officer is allowed to do that, that should be an automatic write up. I wonder if they check video to see if his car was really broken into, especially if his gun was stolen. I would think, they would want to find that gun ASAP to prevent any crime from occurring.
