When you were talking about how going back to dancing makes you feel sick, like how it's been a year and it hasn't been long enough, I kind of understand. I have been an artist all my life and once I tried to make it my career, I hated it. Whenever I draw something I still at times feel distaste for it because once I had tried to make art something more than just a hobby, it wasn't something I got to do, it was something I *had* to do. Although dancing isn't the same as art, I understand why someone could go from being a professional dancer and leave it behind and not want to go back. I don't know why it feels so validating, but thanks for sharing.

My mom’s been a ballerina since... forever... I think since she was like 3 or something? She’s been in the Nutcracker for every year as long as I can remember and now she’s a ballet teacher, but she’s frustrated to see that she can do less than she used to. Even so, she keeps teaching, and she tries to dance at home even in quarantine as much as she can. I used to dance when I was very little, but quit when I was like 8 and am now incapable of even sitting upright with my legs stretched out on the ground. Even with how frustrated my mom gets though, sometimes she’ll be sitting on the couch casually pulling her leg up by her face and I just... am reminded of what an inflexible 17 year old I’ve become :,)
