Saw Great White open for Whitesnake in 87. What a voice he had and could sing so well and sing great like Robert Plant and do Zeppelin covers and so much more. Through all he and the band went through, Will miss and thanks to the memories. RIP

I met Jack Russell after a show in the 90s. He was very gracious with his time and signed autographs with fans. Been a long time fan of Jack with Great White since the 80s. RIP

Had the honour of seeing Great White at The Bristol Bierkeller on the 90s..I stood right in front of Jack's microphone.. Absolutely one of the best memories.. I could smell the material on his jacket I was that close.. He was such an amazing singer and I loved him, the band and music was unique. I grew up with GW and I'm in tears 😭😭

Same here, my friend was with the media, and we got to hang with them out back by the tourbus. Saw them twice on that tour, as well as several other times. Saw them with Terry in 2012, and just wasn't the same

Thank you Jimmy; we love Jack for the music, but also for the beautiful soul-he was giving and humble; may God heal that broken heart and Jesus bring him into heaven; he’s served time he didn’t owe and repented enough. Great White lost one of their own too and they were told the pyrotechnics were fine for that venue,..and Jack paid and paid dearly and showed up strong and brave until he just couldn’t that’s what I will remember the great vocals the music but also that courageous soul that gave his all until the end-again we love you Jack, rest well and be free we will see you later friend ❤

Jack was having hip trouble and could barely walk. The last time I saw him we he was walking with a cane. We talked about our ailments, because I too walk with a cane and can barely walk myself. He played a small club in Maryland in 2018. That's the last time I saw him. Sending my condolences to his family, band mates and friends😢 RIP my friend. He was always nice to me when we talked at small venues where Great White and Jack Russell played.

Jack has had it very rough on a physical level for the last 15 years. He fell down in his bathroom in 2009 and shattered his hips and broke his back. He needed spinal fusion of all of his discs from his neck down to his lumbar region, as well as hip replacements and he went from 5'11" to 5'6" almost immediately after his surgeries and then kept falling and needing more back surgeries and just kept shrinking and this led to him using more and more pain killers to deal with the constant physical pain he was going through. I think Neeley even said it on his show that him and Jack used to be the exact same height up until 2008 or so and in recent years Jack barely came up to Neeley's chest area. He was an extremely talented guy and a good person. Huge fan of his music.

The last time I was able to watch Great White was 2003 with Quiet Riot and Dokken. It was an outdoor venue and a storm came through and shut it down. We only made it 1/2 way through Great White and never did get to Dokken. 😪 Stick it all-time favorite song.❤

I was lucky to see them when they opened for David Lee Roth in the 90s. I considered going to that show at the Station, but ended up working late that night. I had seen Quiet Riot there a few months before.

I'm a lot more offended that he blew off responsibility for the fire that killed a hundred people in 2003, and those that were injured were/are still in pain to this day. I'm torn. I remember when they were big on the radio and I remember getting free albums at an Ace Frehley show at Aragon in 1980s. Not that much older than me. Also remember that Gina Russo said he did "benefits" for the victims and never sent them a dime. I remember he didn't do anything to help, either on the video or by any eyewitness account. Dan Biechle, the match lighter, DID. Also vividly recall him bragging about the tour's next stops *while the building is completely engulfed.* For the record, he wasn't a pyro guy, and neither were the glorified owners (they owned nothing but a vastly bad lease for 4,500 a MONTH, and ALL responsibility for the building [maintenance] that they didn't OWN). None of them gets to make the choice if pyro was safe. That the fire marshal KNEW and still gets ANY pension is an insulting joke. Denis Laroque. Lives in Florida. The band and the club also made sure they didn't bother with Workman's comp or proper insurance, either. And the victims will have a very hard time working, especially as they age. The skin tightens up and causes pain DAILY as I understand it, and not like it'll be easy to just move and get a job elsewhere. R.I. doesn't have much decent industry or good jobs left, and that was John Barylick's account THEN. I'm in shock, mostly because he's not that much older than I am (here comes death). But that's the first things I think of...that horrible fire that HE instigated because it was HIS band, as he made sure everyone knew. Until something went wrong. Anyone can be a great guy 5 minutes, btw. Bundy and Gacy did it for YEARS. I've had bands. It would never occur to me to do what he (didn't) bother to do.
