Violet Evergarden is truly a heartwarming anime. I loved almost every part of it but I especially liked episode 10. The way how Violet was holding her tears, saying that Anne will not be with her mom when she receives her letters every year is so sad and emotional, paired with Michishirube (the ed song of Violet) this really shaped how I viewed anime. 10/10 anime for me

Yes, I think that episode really shows how much she had grown emotionally since she first started. She understands how both mother and daughter feel and understands how their feelings will continue and change over time, which was not possible when she first started. The way Anne's future continues through the letters she receives is so beautiful it made me sob. Anne's story also continued in the movie, which I was pleasantly surprised about and I think it is so great, I don't know if you've watched the movies too but I highly recommend!

It changed my life drastically to the good side and made me wake up to realize that there is something out there worth to life for. Before I watched Violet Evergarden I felt like everything is lost and I threw my life away for something useless (I still don't know what). Now, after a decade of months I really want to watch this masterpiece again that brought me back on track, I can't be more thankful for something that doesn't even exist in real life. I love Violet Evergarden because it did what A Silent Voice could not. This anime shows Violet as a really subtle, complex and meaningful symbol. A Silent Voice tried making Shoko into a character just as developed as Shouya, but it doesn't work. They foist too many roles on an underdeveloped symbol, not even mentioning Shoko's role as a character. Violet Evergarden on the other hand, uses love as a metaphor really carefully and it works. Violet is a symbol for everyone she meets. She is a metaphor for war trauma, and the mental consequences in can have for a person. Violet Evergarden's prosthetic hand is an integral part of her character. We see her using the hand daily for writing letters, and because the letters that Violet writes are so beautiful, we feel for Violet and understand that the loss of Violet's hand was traumatizing for her. And the music in the show by Evan Call conveys each emotion perfectly, compared to the unsuitable music of A Silent Voice, composed by Kensuke Ushio. Let me explain. So when Shoya is bullying Shoko in 6th grade, the whole montage is accompanied by childish music that really undermines how harrowing Shoko's bullying was. Whereas in Violet Evergarden, each piece of music highlights the melancholy of its titular main character. Violet as a protagonist is so fully realised because we get to know just the right amount of information about her, as well as all the supporting characters. In A Silent Voice, however, a lot of the story focuses on Shoya, but the movie doesn't balance out all of its characters and we get to know very little about Shoko and the other characters (likes, dislikes, interests, flaws etc.) The way A Silent Voice portrays deaf people is also dangerous. Shoko wants to commit suicide because of her disability? Am I the only one who thinks this could potentially be a harmful mindset for deaf people and would lead them to do horrible things to themselves? In Violet Evergarden, our main character has a reason to become an automemories doll, because of the love for her Major. All of the side characters also have a crucial role in helping Violet understand the meaning of I love you. Whereas in A Silent Voice everyone becomes friends for no reason. Violet Evergarden also looks much more beautiful than A Silent Voice. That's why Violet Evergarden is better than A Silent Voice in every way.

I love this anime, it's so sad and heartwarming at the same time, it teaches about guilt, regret, sadness, how people aren't always able to speak how they really feel and they use letters to make it easier for them, overall how important communication is. I personally love the Scene when Violet flies over the lake with the umbrella. This video shows the most important parts of Violet Evergarden and still can't compare to the full series and moves, well how should it^^ I'm just sad that the video doesn't take the last movie into account, which is a real hit in my gut atleast^^ Also, a personal note, as I suffer from Mental health issues, this show helped me come closer to myself and get healthier, by showing that I'm not alone, that others can understand the suffering the pain and self-hatred, most of the time when I watch animes or anything at all, I catch myself searching for a deeper meaning which the author could have had. Animes aren't real life but can help picture situations, feelings, and way more, for me, all the animes I watched are kinda like a letter from Violet Evergarden and I hope that I will soon also be able to write "letters" to the people that are dear to me. You really should watch Violet Everygarden if you havent^^ Have a great day everyone

Author's Introduction ON APRIL 1st, 1924, I began to serve my sentence of detention in the Fortress of Landsberg am Lech, following the verdict of the Munich People's Court of that time. After years of uninterrupted labour it was now possible for the first time to begin a work which many had asked for and which I myself felt would be profitable for the Movement. So I decided to devote two volumes to a description not only of the aims of our Movement but also of its development. There is more to be learned from this than from any purely doctrinaire treatise. This has also given me the opportunity of describing my own development in so far as such a description is necessary to the understanding of the first as well as the second volume and to destroy the legendary fabrications which the Jewish Press have circulated about me. In this work I turn not to strangers but to those followers of the Movement whose hearts belong to it and who wish to study it more profoundly. I know that fewer people are won over by the written word than by the spoken word and that every great movement on this earth owes its growth to great speakers and not to great writers. Nevertheless, in order to produce more equality and uniformity in the defence of any doctrine, its fundamental principles must be committed to writing. May these two volumes therefore serve as the building stones which I contribute to the joint work. The Fortress, Landsberg am Lech. At half-past twelve in the afternoon of November 9th, 1923, those whose names are given below fell in front of the FELDHERRNHALLE and in the forecourt of the former War Ministry in Munich for their loyal faith in the resurrection of their people: • Alfarth, Felix, Merchant, born July 5th, 1901 • Bauriedl, Andreas, Hatmaker, born May 4th, 1879 • Casella, Theodor, Bank Official, born August 8th, 1900 • Ehrlich, Wilhelm, Bank Official, born August 19th, 1894 • Faust, Martin, Bank Official, born January 27th, 1901
